When my file was stuck in background checks, my visa officer wrote that the officer responsible for my file determined that further background checks are needed. So in my case background checks were conducted by another officer.

Well Look like majority of applicant files are stuck with background checks.

It's been noticed that the time taken for background check by LVO is different for each one and it could be 3 to 12 months, depends on case and correctly filled Schedule A form (in personal history section there should be no Gaps)

Otherwise applicant has to fill it again and wait another 4 months for Visa officer to review it (it happened with me :() once VO find it acceptable, file will move to next step i.e. background check => means security & criminality check.

Generally on CSE inquiry LVO, states that:

1) Your Background checks are outstanding and these may take several months to complete.
We will advise further when in a position to do so.

2) Please be advised that your file is currently undergoing routine background checks. We will be in contact with further information once these checks are complete.

3) Please be advised that we are awaiting the results of routine background enquiries. Your continued patience is appreciated.

4) Please be advised that the file in question is still undergoing background checks. We can not give you any timeframe for the BGC, we will be in contact when there have been further developments with the processing of the file.

5) We await completion of background checks and cannot estimate when these will be completed.

Guys is it true that during background checks our file is assign to another visa officer?

And what is the significance of having S.15 (1) in our GCMS notes?

Dear fellows,
Can you please help me to understand where my file stands for PPR1
File submitted June 2011
Medical submitted Feb 2012
Medical Expired Feb 2013

I have been sending CSIs since mide 2012 (after every 3-4 months) and each time there was standard reply that

" Please be advised that the above file is currently undergoing routine background checks and you will be advised if any additional information is required" by NMP

  • BUT
in the last CSI, the response was

" This file/ application is currently in a queue awaiting review. after review the medical situation would also be considered" by MCH

Request GCMS
if u have your friend in canada then use this cic website ATIP and if u dot have then apply through private consultants. this will partially clear your current position.

HI Guys
Hope you all doing well. As I told earlier that I was called for interview and after interview they ask me to send my newborn baby document and RPRF and some other documents. I sent them last week and they got it, but for my surprise they said they have not received my certified cheque for RPRF and newborn baby processing fee. I am 100% sure that the cheque was enclosed the envelop. Really upset as paid almost £900 and not sure if the bank will cancel those cheque and will reissue or not. Further in my background declaration form they have clearly mentioned that either supply your last 10 years history and address detail or from your 18th birthday, which is most recent and I supplied last 10 years info but they sent me email that they want info since my 18th birthday. this is not difficult as I just need to add two more address but i am worried for my cheque and time wasted because I am sure cheque was enclosed.
regards

Ask LVO to double check. If they confirm that they have not received your certified cheque, take a copy of the cheque or the receipt given to you when you had the cheque issued to the bank / exchange. They will probably deduct some charges, cancel the old bank draft and issue a new one.

Good luck!

This asked to me too, many of us confuse on history from 18th birthday or last 10 years history, actually last 10 years option for those who are below the age 18th and they have option to give history of last 10 years rest should start from age of 18th.
