Mikki is correct about the drafts. But on the CIC website they said draft payable to Receiver General for Canada (without the The, not sure if will make a diffenrence though). I think pretty much any bank can give you a draft or cheque if you have an account with them with enough funds. Santander gave it to me in about 20 min.

They can't make you go to another country for an interview. Contact them and make sure they rectify their mistake in thinking you are in a different country.

Good luck with your medical!

As for the things needed: a smear test is required for women age 35 and older only so I did not need to bring this ;D. I do not have kids so I cannot really advise you on the children immunization record (but Yolanda will know for sure). They only asked us to bring a passport and 2 passport pictures for each adult (you need those for the medical forms they have to fill out).

You can do it online as well, it's very easy and takes just a few minutes. They will send the cheque to your address the same day (if ordered before noon). Btw. Yolanda is right, the cheque should be made out to "Receiver General for Canada" (it was a typo in my previous post). Do not forget to write your address and the file number on the back of the cheque once you receive it from the bank and before you post it to the VO.

Today i received an email from LVO informing me about my interview date. Strange thing is file number mentioned in this mail is different from mine. My file starts from E where as file number in email starts from B. Also i am in Lahore, Pakistan and they want to interview me in Abu Dhabi.
Can there be some mistake?

whats interviw date? some MI1 Pakistani applicants were called in Abu Dhabi. You should request them for interview in Islambad.
most of interview are due to two reasons
1- random security check.
2-for newly marriaged pairs having no kids to confirm the adoptability points.
you should request for GCMS notes to confirm the reason of interview.

I did call the post man of our area but he had no news... .....how long did it take for you to get it after the dispatch date dear now???
