Newbie here, hope someone/somebody could help me with my query...I already received my passport with visa stamp along with the COPR...but I have some doubts with regards to what would be the exact name....on the counterfoil sticker

i.e. MONROE (Surname), MARILYN (given name) VILLAMOR (middle name) ------> counterfoil showed like this MONROE (Surname), MARILYN VILLAMOR (given names) -----actual given name on passport is MARILYN but on counterfoil MARILYN VILLAMOR---> does it affect in the future?

On the other hand, the COPR omitted one letter,

i.e. MONROE, MARILYN VILLAMO (r was dropped)

Kindly advise.

Newbie here, hope someone/somebody could help me with my query...I already received my passport with visa stamp along with the COPR...but I have some doubts with regards to what would be the exact name....on the counterfoil sticker

i.e. MONROE (Surname), MARILYN (given name) VILLAMOR (middle name) ------> counterfoil showed like this MONROE (Surname), MARILYN VILLAMOR (given names) -----actual given name on passport is MARILYN but on counterfoil MARILYN VILLAMOR---> does it affect in the future?

On the other hand, the COPR omitted one letter,

i.e. MONROE, MARILYN VILLAMO (r was dropped)

Kindly advise.

With regards to your inquiry I am not sure, but I think with the format in the COPR and counterfoil visa it is normal to have your middle name along with your given names as there is no label for middle name. Mine is formatted that way. Fam name, Given Names (inclusive of my middle name)

As to the missing letter on the COPR, I believe you can send a CSE first and inquire what action to take.

Thanks for the reply. Today, I was searching for actual visa stamp from a consultant's file and I found out that most of them have the same situation as mine wherein their middle name (mother's maiden surname) was included as part of their given names on the counterfoil sticker. I guessed it's fine as I'm not the only one with this kind of case.

One thing that I'm still not 100% sure is the omission of 1 letter on my middle name (part of my given names). I read one thread forum, with the same situation as mine. The last letter of her husband's name was also omitted (given names of her husband: CHRISTOPHER JOHN, however as printed on his COPR: CHRISTOPHER JOH (last letter which is N was not there). I counted the total number of letters printed it's the same number as mine - 14 letters and the 15th letter was dropped....i think it has to do with space constraints on the COPR...there are replies posted and they said that there's no problem with the omission of 1 letter due to that reason. According to their replies, an advised was received along with the COPR (instruction letter) that due to space constraints the given names may not be written fully.

My counterfoil/visa sticker is correct, only the COPR had an omission of 1 letter.

I asked also my consultant, but I did not receive any answer....

Return it to Visa office and ask for it to be corrected. Don't risk travelling to canada to find you are refused landing. Happy to help. Trevor

I know what you mean. Luckily our furniture is not very expensive one as we were waiting to have our own house to buy nice stuff (which never happen, recession and all). I have discover Facebook is a great way to sell second hand stuff and I don't even need to worry about delivering or posting or paying "Ebay fee". So, whatever money we make we will put towards new stuff over in Canada, I have found a few places that do good deals on furniture.

Don't loose out hope, LVO may have slow down but they are reducing the backlog and your visa will arrive soon....

It looks like you'll be leaving Toronto as we arrive... . We are looking to arrive the last week most possibly. No tickets booked yet as we need to ensure estate agent is ok for us to end lease early (they've already said yes but waiting for it to be on paper to avoid any trouble). Hopefully will book in the next couple of weeks. Regarding the goods to follow I am not sure as we aren't taking any but I think the CIC site has some info and all that paperwork we received with the visas had some sites to visit with info for us.
If everything goes to plan we'll have plenty of time to meet once we're all settle....
