cancel the draft. go to another bank and ask for foreign draft or DD. mention all the above reasons such as encash bank name in canada, full address of encash bank, etc etc.. show them the letter which u got from lvo. if everything is shown on draft, then only accept the draft. do not send the returned draft to lvo.

I think it should have the name of the city mentioned on it if not the exact address of the branch. My RPRF was from national bank of Pakistan and made to 'Royal Bank of Canada Toronto Canada'. I hope it works.

I had a problem with the bank draft in USA as I sent a draft of $15 payable to Texas Department of Public Safety as a fee to get police clearance report and it was done by National Bank of Pakistan payable through National Bank New york Branch. It was rejected with an objection that draft should be drawable from a US Bank only. I had to request one of my friend in USA to send a draft on behalf of me and it was just waste of both time and money. Therefore, if there is a third party involved as it happens mostly in case of exchange companies in Pakistan as no one is directly registerd with a US Bank some money is deducted in the process of receiving money by the beneficiary of the draft and hence the draft actually becomes a little less worth what it is originally made. For instance because of the involvement of the third party my draft of $15 after cashed may be worth $13.45 and thus it was not accepted. This was the case in USA with the drafts other than the Bank of US origin, it may be the same problem here. Though last year I had sent a $36 to the same department with NBP draft payable through NBP New york and it worked. However, as I remember from the receipt they had actually got only $33.25.

My banker's cheque was made to the same bank and it said the same as yours. I haven't received any correspondence from LVO saying it's wrong yet. RPRF delivered 08/08

Dear All,

Need you urgent help and suggestions.

We have got the letter from LVO (Cost Recovery Section) that " Your bank draft has not been completed properly, Please provide the full address of the payment bank and resend the draft"

We sent the Bank Draft to Receiver General for Canada and Payment banks is " CANADIAN IMPERIAL BK OF COMM CANADA"

This was the brank draft of CAD 150 for our new addition to the family.



We immediately checked with our bank whom issued the bank draft and they say the draft is perfectly fine and on the same format that a number of other drafts are issued daily.

Our bank has advised us that this draft may be presented to the payment bank
"CANADIAN IMPERIAL BK OF COMM" for clearnece.

What should we do now.

We are very worried
