They changed the rules for visa-exempt countries passport holders on December 1st 2011. You will not get a visa stamped in your passport so your passport is not needed, just a copy of it. You will 'only' receive COPR.

As of December 1, 2011, citizens of visa-exempt countries no longer have a permanent resident visa affixed to their passport. These applicants are only issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). The expiry date is clearly visible on the COPR.
