Hello Hossein
As with many things in life it comes down to personal circumstances and I think that it is hard to just generalize. Everybody here does have different reasons for making Canada a new home so although some of us here can guide you, you will have to make the call.
I lived in different countries (US, Germany, Austria and UK) and all those do have advantages and disadvantages. Although I liked living in the UK at the beginning, it is at the moment not easily bearable. My personal opinion (others might think differently): UK is overcrowded, narrow, bad roads (I live in the Greater London area), poor and very expensive housing, streets are not clean; there is literally rubbish everywhere (when you move away from the tourist areas). School education is on a very low level (I work a lot with schools and school-age kids). UK does have a quite high criminality rate (as a matter of fact the only time I've got robbed in my life was in the UK). The British mentality is strange (no offence to any Brits here), a 'word of promise' means nothing to them. The economy is bad here (well, might be that way in the rest of the world), I honestly do not feel secure here and I definitely do not want my kids growing up here.
I could go on but it really does not matter. Look at your options. What possibility do you have in Canada and how do those compare to the UK? Will you have a job in Canada once there (you will in the UK since you are mentioning an investor visa)? Do you have family or friends who can help you in Canada or the UK? Fact is, the standard of living is higher in Canada and the cost of living is about 30 per cent lower than in the UK. But those are just statistics, the call is yours. Canada is not a paradise but I know that my life will have a higher quality than in the UK.
And since I am here on this forum, sharing my experience about obtaining an Canadian immigration visa, you already know my decision: Canada.
I hope that this helps a little. Good Luck Hossein!
Miki
Dear Miki,
Thank you for your nice and useful advices.
Your feedback will help me a lot to decide where to go, and where to live.
I am living in Kuwait right now, i am satisfied with my lifestyle, my job is good, i have no problem with my life situation.
The only reason to move from Kuwait is that after 46 years born and living in Kuwait, i am not getting any advantages from the government for my children, actually, i am treated like the new person arrived yesterday to Kuwait.
Therefore, i am looking for my kid's future.
You gave me fantastic advices about what i want to know, as you are aware, i am in visit trip to UK, i have been in London for one week and now in Manchester for almost one week, but the point of view of visitor can not be compare to who'se living in UK.
Do you think it is better to decide that to keep UK as second chance after Canada for move on from Kuwait?
The attractive thing in UK for me and my family was the shopping, since you cannot get such prices in Europe countries, even i found that the food stuff is cheaper than Europe, as i heard that things are slightly expensive in Canada because their market count on US, but still you are saying "the cost of living here in UK is higher than Canada by 30%".
Could you please tell me for how long do you live in UK, and did you get the UK passport or no?
Your feedback will be highly appreciated as i am collecting information for my new life here in UK or for Canada.
Best regards,
