Congratulations to MOMO for his MR and thanks to Mr. E on feedback regarding my PCCs!!!
Finally....MRs done today. As Tim Hunter said it was pretty straight forward. First X-rays, then urinalysis and med check and finally blood test. I asked lots of questions that I thought I share with all of you guys who are waiting for MR.
On the x-ray thy will look for signs of TB and some other things like any signs of some undetected condition. For the urine sample they will look for protein or/and blood which could be sign of kidney disease. If there is only "trace" then no further tests are needed but inf more then extra tests may be required. So a urine test from GP or pharmacy may be good just to discard. Lots of liquid will also help as will dilute the urine too. Then comes the medical check. Weight, height, blood pressure, eyesight (one will have to read a panel with letter like for an eyetest but a bit further away covering each eye). After that is the check with the doctor, asked to fill a form with past history (any illness that did not require hospital treatment is no mayor thing and only current conditions seem to matter more), if all your answer are no then you should deff have no probs. You get asked about your smoking and drinking habits and then the physical check. Your lungs and chest with the stethoscope, reflexes, a feel of your tummy and lymph nodes on side of upper legs and under arms, eyes, ears and mouth. They will check the resistance on your legs also. hat was pretty much it. Last was the blood test were they only look for AIDS and Syphilis. For children is much more simple too.
They said it will take max a week to send to LVO. Results for blood and X-ray will e ready within 48 hrs and MR will be sent to LVO electronically (so I suppose by e-mail), so no tracking for me to do. They will only contact us if any concerns found.
Hope this was of some help...
