My CRS score is coming out as 405.. should I apply for PR or should I reattempt ielts to get high score? Is there any possibility to get invitation at 405?

I would advice to sit for the exam again. You need to score at least 8777 (LRWS) to be eligible for additional 50 points in transferability part in CRS. You can use CRS tool to see where that take you. Based on current trend, >450 points is guaranteed invite within two rounds. Whereas with 405 points, no one ever got direct ITA in the last one year and half (it could be longer as I am not aware of the data before).

With your current score, the only option is through PNP invitation (region like Ontario invite you) which will give extra 600 points which would take you to 1005 points in total and a guaranteed invitation to apply. However, to get that 600, processing takes long time and is on average 3 months.

Hi, I got L 7.5, R 9, W 6.5 S 8; overall 8 score. Do you also suggest me taking a retest. Also can you explain a little more on transferability part in CRS. How does it add more to the score?

Please use the tool provided by Canada's government:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Start with the first question: 1) What is your marital status?

Then the rest of the questions will be drop down. It will give score at the end on each selected option. You can first put your current IELTS score to see your likely CRS points; you can then adjust IELTS to say L 8, R 9, W 7 S 8, and you can see how many extra points you get by just getting extra 0.5 on each listening and writing.
