Alright guys, here is my story and I genuinely need advice.
I have done my undergraduate program from a very reputable university in Pakistan for computer science.

I scored 2.72/4 CGPA. The percentage equivalence comes out to be 70.8 % because of the grading scheme used in my university.

I have just given my Ielts on 1st december 2018 and I am trying to gain admission in universities for masters of computer science for the September 2019 semester.

I have contacted two universities from which both stated that I am admissible to apply and one stated that 60% - 100% of Pakistani grade is equal to 80% - 100% grade in Canada.

According to the above statement, my percentage should be approximately above 85% in Canada, right?

Also, the universities which I have shortlisted are the following.

Western University
Ryerson University
University of Ontario Institute of Technology
Memorial University of New Found Land
McMaster University
Windsor University

I have 1.5 years experience in Software Engineering in a Multi National Company.

I would have greater than 2 years of experience before the start of september semester.

Now, the main question is what do you guys think about me applying in the above listed universities? Would I be able to secure admission to them?

Please if anyone can help me out, then please do because I really do not want to waste my money on applying for universities to which it is really hard to gain admission to.

Program I am trying to gain admission to : Masters of Computer Science (Project or Coursework)

I would prefer universities in Ontario.

I would be very thankful to anyone who can help me out. I am not seeking for graduate diplomas, I am seeking only masters.

One more thing, my CGPA for the past 2 years, 63 Credit hours is 2.98. Rounding it up makes it 3.

3 can be converted to 74% (According to the department of my university).

The universities you mentioned are not that easy to get into with your cgpa. You can try Windsor and lakehead university. Memorial university is not in Ontario.

Yes, I know that it is not in Ontario, but the fees was comparatively lower than the other unis so thats why it was in my options.

So, what would you say about the statement that first division of pakistan is equal to 80-100 of Canada.

In a university's international section they mention first division (60+) required for Pakistan students. But that's not a program specific requirement. Each program has it's own specific Gpa requirement, and some usually ask for at least 3 in final two years. You got 2.98, so if the university is telling you you're eligible to apply then sure go for it. But competition is tough to get into universities such as mcmaster and western. Apply for a "safe" university as well. Maybe lakehead and Windsor.

I don't understand their fees structure. Lakehead university states that 7000$ for a term, and there are three terms in a year. So I would be paying 21000$ in a year?

Multiply it to 2 so paying 42000$ for full time masters. Isn't this very much expensive, how can they write that they are very competitive in the fee structure. Why are their three terms in a year? Usually there are only 2 semesters in a year in Pakistan with the exception of summer semester, which only those people take who have backlogs or want to take courses quickly.

Canadian Universities are very confusing.

What do you say about University of Manitoba, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina and Memorial University of New Found Land? Should I apply there?

Yes that is very expensive. Some universities charge tuition based on credit hours. Contact the university if you want to be 100% sure. saskatchewan offers thesis based masters in CS in think

Would probably start from writing Newfoundland as one word. I am not sure who gave you the GPA conversion but think you will find a lot of variability between the schools. Wouldn't count on getting the conversion from all schools.

Sorry for writing Newfoundland as three different words. So what do you recommend me? Can you help me shortlist the universities I should apply to? The GPA conversion was given to me by the universities admission officer.

Each university has it’s own entrance criteria so that applies to only that university. You will have to do your own research but you should probably limit your applications to universities that increase your gpa.

I have CGPA of 3.83/4.00 (81%) in BSCS from Pakistan and 7 band in IELTS + 12 years of experience in Software development. Now i want to complete my master and do some research. What are my chances of getting selected in Memorial University after 12 years. My age is 35. I decided to Apply to Memorial university because of low tuition

you can apply as a mature student I think. A mature student is the one who has a gap of 4 years plus in his last studies.

I would recommend you to look for colleges instead of Universities . This will save you alot of money and it will be easy for you get your admission. Plus there are lot of colleges in Vancouver as well , if you want to live in a metropolitan area. What i have found out is that ranking doesn't matter too much there. I would also suggest to look for credentials other than Masters. They have a lot to offer
