Hello guys...
I have low percentage in my graduate i.e 54 with many backlogs...
I want to pursue my masters in electrical engineering/operation management...
I have work exp of about 28 months...please suggest me some universities where i can get admission.
Still I am pursuing IELTS and in mock test I got 6.5 band, so I am about to attempt IELTS as soon as possible.
please do help guys...I will be grateful to you...
You can certainly try but there are very little chances of being admitted. I would suggest pursuing a masters in you4 home country if you can be admitted.

With 54 you would not be able to get into any 'real' university in Canada. You can try but don't have your hopes up.

I don't like to discourage people but if the minimum asked for is 3.0 then maybe you can get away with 2.8 or such, anything lower you are going to struggle to get admission. It also depends on the program

Hello, I have completed my bachelor's computer engineering with 6.01 CGPA (first-class out of 10). I have 1+ years of experience and I am looking to pursue a Master's in Computer Science in Canada Fall 2021. Kindly help me evaluate my profile so as to see which universities I can apply in for masters. Also IELTS overall 7.5.

Hello,
My profile is as below:

10th (metric) - 87%
12th (Inter) - 72%
Undergraduate (B.Eng) - 7.06(10) or 65%
Work experience - 3 yrs as Software developer.

IELTS - yet to appear (expecting 7/7.5 band)

I want to pursue M.S in Computer Science specifically in Data Science field.

If anyone can evaluate my profile and suggest me if I should apply to universities which may accept my low GPA or should I apply to colleges.

I have shortlisted all courses and programs from various universities and colleges.

If anyone can just help me out with which universities/colleges may accept my profile ?

Thanks in advance.

For college, it's fine. For universities you GPA is on the low scale, may need to do GRE to stand out

Thanks for quick response mate.

I am not planning to give GRE exam.
How about PG diploma from universities e.g University of Calgary, Corcordia University, etc ?
Do I stand any chance of being accepted ?

What more can I do to enhance and strengthen my profile ?
A good SOP, good IELTS score ?

Thanks in advance.

PG Diploma takes in lower grades than Master's, I think you have good enough stats for that. Look into University of Calgary PG Data Science. I also heard they are releasing Master's in a year or 2 so you can go from Diploma to Master's

Hey!

Above 70% is definitely a comfortable score to apply with but there are universities that accept scores above 60% or in the close ranges. The truth is each university in Canada has their own grade conversion standards for international students you cannot depend on standard conversions like WES. Example U Manitoba accepts from 55% where as UBC will have a higher requirement. Lot depends on the university reputation and rankings too. Getting a research masters will be always tough if your scores are below 70% cause this needs approval from a faculty and your justification in the area of research. You should also have technical papers published

The bigger question here is are you ready to study in any university that admits you or do you have specific targets? If you are open to any province/university you can make it with a 60%/first class.

Reason why consultancies say 70% is because they want to sell you PG Diploma courses which doesn't give you the career growth you need. I would suggest you to check with Canam consultancy, they do not charge any fees for applications but they have limited university tie ups just a suggestion i do not have any personal experience but this is something my friends advised me. But any day i would say you can apply for canada yourself. If you have the patience and time to read through processes, contact universities.

PS: Meeting the GPAs requirements is not the only criterion there are many other parameters which dictate your admission chances like SOP, research experience etc.
Hello,
I hope you're doing well. My name is Tushar and I live in India. I saw your replies in a forum regarding admissions in Canadian universities and thought maybe you could help me. I wanted to pursue for either masters in pharmacy or PharmD from Canada but when I saw the eligibility criteria which requires 3.0 GPA, I lost hope. I've scored 55% in my UG course, i.e. Bachelors in Pharmacy. I have even selected a time slot for IELTS which is on 7' September 2020. Do you think I'll get admitted in any Canadian university for my higher studies with such scores even if i somehow manage to meet the requirements with good IELTS score?
An early response from your end will be appreciated.

Thank You!
