Lost PR Card

Hi,

I currently live in London with my Wife. We have unfortunately lost her PR card.

We are due to fly back to Canada in January - from looking at the CIC website it looks like we have to get a Travel Permit from the Canadian Embassy in London before we fly.

My wife will apply for a replacement PR card once we have arrived in Canada (I take it we can't get it sent to the UK?) However will this stop her from working? I take it that although she has lost her physical card she is still classed as a permanent resident?

Appreciate any advice.

Contact the embassy immediately and report the card lost.

When it is time to go back, get the travel document.

Once you are in Canada, apply for a new PR card.

She is still a PR and so she can still work in Canada with or without a PR card.
