Hi

I want to apply for a new PR card to replace my lost one. In this case,
1. do I have to provide the exactly same documents and go thru the same process as applying for a renewal?
2. What would be expiry date of my replaced card, would it be the same as on the lost one, or would it be automatically moved forward like a renewal?

Thanks

You should report your PR card lost to immigration if you haven't already. They require you to report it as soon as you know that it is missing.

1. You have to provide the same documents as for a renewal. If you have been a PR for more than 5 years, you must prove that you have spent at least 730 days in Canada in the past 5 years. If you have been a PR for less than 5 years, you must prove that you have either spent 730 days in Canada after you got your PR or that you can still spend 730 days in Canada before your first 5 years are up.

2. PR cards are issued for 5 years at a time so your new card will be valid for the next 5 years.
