Hi,
I have traveled 4 times only, but I lost my passport last year, along with 2 times of the record, do I still need to declare this ? since I don't have supporting documents ?

Yes you do. You will need to obtain as much information as possible to fill in and document the gaps.

No one will ask you to "prove" it. When uploading your passport pages, IRCC expects you to upload your current valid passport only, even if it's a brand new unused one.
You are required to list your travel history, that's it. Some countries don't even stamp your passport, for example if you travel within the Schengen countries. You would still need to list all travel in the past 10 years, because they will find out during the background check.
If you can't remember the exact dates, make your best guess (you can try looking through your email inbox for old tickets, or check dates on your social media if you uploaded travel photos). You can also mention that you don't remember exact dates in an LoE.

You're lucky if you only have 4 trips to declare. I had over 40! And my passport only covers trips for the past 5 years.

I had to scour through emails, expedia history and social media for photos. I then stated in my LoE that this is how I have compiled my history and I am as certain as I can be that it is full and correct. Looking at my recent GCMS notes, there is no issue with this and background check is complete.
