Hello Everyone,

My closed work permit is expiring in November 5th 2020, and i had applied as Cec and got AOR on 27th may, please note i didn't claim any points for job offer only claimed points for 1 year experience and after that i had applied for Bwop on july 8th, but unfortunately i lost my job on 10th August.
while applying for pr and bowp I mentioned my last employer details as presently working. Now i am in a soup, I haven't informed Ircc yet about the job loss, what should be my next steps.. will my PR Application be rejected or Bowp be rejected as i am currently unemployed.

Please advice, thanks for your help..

No, as long as you met the requirements to apply for PR in terms of work experience on the date of your application, later unemployment is not an issue. I believe once you receive your BOWP, you can take any job you want.

No soup : ) As long as you didn't claim to have arranged employment / valid job offer, it simply does not matter, there is no impact on either your PR or BOWP eligibility.

Unfortunately as primaprime noted, you won't be able to accept new employment until you get the BOWP...

In case, I claimed the 50 points against arranged employment and lost my job, would there be any problem with PR processing and can we apply for BOWP? @primaprime @jes_ON

If you needed the 50 points to stay above the CRS cutoff, then yes, I believe your PR application and any BOWP application would be refused. What is your exact situation? Were you working on a PGWP or did you have an LMIA?

I
I'm on LMIA work permit.

So you applied for PR with a letter from your employer offering to continue your employment for at least one year after you became a PR?

I will be doing that but just wanted to know what would happen if any thing goes wrong. Can you please share what documents I may have to get from my employer?

So you haven't actually lost your job? In that case I wouldn't borrow trouble. Focus on getting your employment letter and payslips together.

I'm still employed. Do I need to get a new offer letter or old letter is sufficient?

You need a new letter offering to continue your employment for at least a year after you become a PR.
