Hello all,

I have studied Engineering in Canada for 6 years on a student permit and got my bachelors and masters degree from a Canadian University.

I then applied for immigration and got my PR status in Canada in late 2004 and landed. I worked with a well reputed construction firm untill mid 2006

In mid 2006 i left Canada to work in the middle east.

Now, i am married with a child (not canadians), my PR card is expired, and i cannot apply for a Travel document to return to canada for 2 reasons:

1- i do not meet the residency requirements
2- i cant leave my family behind.

My question is : What is the best way to proceed forward with going back to Canada as a family.

Is it better if i re-apply all over for myself and my family? will i have problems because i lost my status the first time?
Is there a way to re-instate my PR status and get PR-status for my family at the same time?

I would appreciate your feedback.

Regards,

Bobaz

Dear,

Your case is so simple.

You should re-apply to Canada PR for Federal Skill Worker Category. Your case will solve within 6 month and your family will get Permanent visa for Canada.

You can get the maximum points

25 Education Master Degree
21 Work Experience
16 IELTS - you are from english speaking country
4 French Points (4 out of 8, depends on french skill)
10 Age
10 Adaptability Previous Study in canada & Previous Work in Canada & Spouse Education etc.

Thank you for your quick response Visaexpert,

How do i declare that i lost my PR status?

Would there be anyway that would affect me being that i applied for PR status before and lost my status?

I am of an arabic origin, would i still need IELTS even though i studied and worked in Canada?

Thanks,

Just take an inquiry about your PR status, If it is still valid then, Visit Canada immediately and get the way how to renew your current PR status.

I advice you to take IELTS wherever you are from. It is the best way to test the English language ability.

Your expired PR status will not effect your future process of immigration to Canada.

Do you have 1 year work experience under 38 Occupation list?

Good Luck.

Try and see which NOC your work experience matches. Your expired PR will not have any affect on the processing of application. Just an operational lag might be there. Rest since you must already be aware of the points 67 minimum, check if your work experience matches any of the 38 ministerial list then get ready to apply for yourself as now immigration will take between 6-12 months processing from local visa office.
