It's a fair amount of work. Note that you must also EXPORT it 72 hours in advance with the US side - so you go, get the papers signed, then head to the Canadian side and land.yoraj said:For now, me and my wife are preparing the checklist for the stuffs we will be moving there...does anyone of you know, how big of a deal is to import a car ? Do you guys know what are the steps one needs to follow ?
To add on, call the bridge you will be going to, and find out what the need and when. Some only require a title, some need more. Some need it before you even GET there. So it's best to call them. They can give you every detail you want and needcomputergeek said:It's a fair amount of work. You don't have to do it at the same time - just list it on its own B4/B4A form as "goods to follow" and you can import it a few months later after you're settled and have researched the necessary paperwork.
Congratulations!!cgagnon said:We landed on Nov 24th and had to land in Quebec due to the CSQ!! Which means we had to grab the way back with all the tolls!! 36$ later at 3 am my husband and I officially lande and we have now been running around for SIN, Medicare, drivers license( we to so lucky there was a cancellation for next week!!!)French classes etc loads of work!! Once I get on my computer will give more details
No. You can land alone.manispreet said:1. Do you need your sponsor to be with you while you are landing? I am planning to land on Dec 25 but my wife (sponsor) is coming to Canada on Dec 28?
Passport, COPR (with pictures), B4/B4A forms. That's all they need from you.manispreet said:2. What documents should I need to bring with me? I have some fair idea but still asking to confirm it.
Technically there's no limit as I recall. Low value items (furniture/clothing) are not of concern. Items with value (electronics, cars, jewelry, etc) need to be clearly listed/described. If you have goods that you are bringing later, you need to declare them at the time of landing but listed separately ("goods to follow").manispreet said:3. How much amount (in total reg furniture and clothes etc) is allowed/safer to put on B4 forms?
Received by LA on 28 September, sent out on 10 October. I did send them evidence of upcoming travel, though...parker24 said:Hubby just asked me how long the passport comes back from LA, I told him I'd ask my Immigration Friends
So, how long did it take for you to get your passport back folks?
I'm doing great. Let's see, I've been a PR for 6 weeks already. Should be seeing my PR Card in a few more weeks (I did see my address in e-cas change again. It's the "same" but they moved things around so instead of "apt - street" it now lists the apartment on the second line. I'm wondering if my status will ever go to "complete".manispreet said:Thanks so much Computergeek. Hope you are doing great!
True haha. But that is pretty quick! LA got his passport on the 26th so maybe before Christmas but we're not holding our breath.computergeek said:Received by LA on 28 September, sent out on 10 October. I did send them evidence of upcoming travel, though...
It took 35 days from the day they received my PP to get it back to me....parker24 said:Hubby just asked me how long the passport comes back from LA, I told him I'd ask my Immigration Friends
