2 years... that's crazy long Did you receive any update from them during the 2 years? Or you just waited?

Yes we just were caught all in the wrong time. Our original application was in Buffalo and sat there until they closed then sat in Ottawa for 6 months (without us knowing) before it was transfered to LA almost a year after the sponsor was approved. By the time that an officer looked at it a year later, they decided 4 months after that that we needed to apply for rehabilitation as well. So after 2 years... yes it is done
We emailed to inquire every 4 months or so after the first year to see where it was and that was the only way we found out Buffalo had closed or that our file had been transfered a few times. Crazy

No. The offices no longer permit walk-in PR visa processing.

I think we are right behind you. My wife's status switched to decision made right near the end of july as well. We too were told the application was going to LA but was processed in Ottawa. Hopefully the COPR arrives at her parents house shortly. Cheers - also about 7 months for us.

I think my wife and I are in the exact same boat too...they received her application back in March, and I got the SA early April, where they then said her application was sent to LA. I kept checking back at the processing time, heaved a huge groan when I saw it go up to 22 months, and then out of the blue in mid-September she gets an email from the CPP-Ottawa requesting a copy of her passport and also an RCMP check (since she's been visiting with me for a while I guess). So we get all that done within a week and send it back to Ottawa. Right now all her status shows online is "Your app was received on this date" and also the "Medical Results have been received".

So we're hoping it won't be too long now

Should we give our lawyer address in Canada or my husband address in usa?
Do they return our file or original documents? What do they return

Well after 13months of waiting and my application being sent from Ottawa to LA I finally got an email yesterday requesting an interview in December as well as a ton of other documents that we already sent in like police criminal check, proof of finance, pictures etc. strange as we sent in over 100 pics initially. Anyone has any idea what they ask if a interview is requested. What are they looking for?

First thing you should do now is ordering GCMS..then it will tell you why they requested interview and then you can prepare yourself accordingly...

We need to import his car to Canada.
What is the step by procedure? My husband called and they said we need to give the title 72 hours ago. We are driving from Anlanta and stopping in Chicago to meet the family and then come here to Toronto.
The car is paid off.
Do we need to put other things on form like clothes, some kitchen appliances, some gold and some other small cities.
His car insurance does not cover in Canada. I dont have car because i work in downtown. I need to buy the car insurance for him. I contacted TD Melox as I was with them before. They said they need letter of experience and the abstract. Does anyone know if we can order abstract and receive it within a week. should we order it for 3 years or 7 years?
Should i buy health insurance for three months in case?

I understand that you received an interview from LA prior to PPR. Can you please fill me in some details of that interview, like questions, the general mood of the interview atmosphere etc. I have an interview with LA in January and I'm "freaking out" lol I trust all will go well for me when the time comes but I just thought I should ask. Plus what would be some reasons for the interview? Thanks

Access to Information = "you are asking for information about someone else"
Privacy Act = "you're asking for information about yourself"

If you are the sponsor, you are asking for the sponsorship file. If you are asking as the applicant, you are requesting the permanent resident application file data. If you are the sponsor asking for the PR file on behalf of the applicant, you are filing an ATIP request for the PR file.
