HI,

I received notification from ontario to apply for nomination.

now i am standing at 403 crs points and in february I will be 30 yrs which means I will loose 5 points and i will fall below 400 points that is below than bare requirement of ontario.

please guide me if this will affect my application or not? I am worried, seeking urgent advise.

Regards
Swati

I'm afraid you will lose 5 pts after you turn 30, but you should be fine if you submit your application before feb. When it comes to aging only Benjamin Button knows how to avoid this :(

Hopefully, there would be a draw before feb. Get all documents ready now; pcc, medicals, reference letters and apply as soon as you receive your ITA

but i am applying under OINP.

so will i be affected. if I submit my application by december end?

This is bad advice, there may very well be several draws before Feb, but the odds of you getting ITA with CRS of 403 is slim. For OINP, the requirement is that you maintain a CRS above 400 throughout the application, so I you do not receive your nomination by Feb, you'd technically be disqualified. Will you apply for OINP under CEC or FSW? Because CEC is quite fast and you may get nomination before Feb.

In my opinion, if $1500 application fee for OINP is not a lot of money for you, your best chance is in applying for OINP ASAP, and hope for the best.

Good luck

you can try improving your crs points. go for ielts if you think there is a chance for better scores.

yes, i am applying under FSW.

So do you advise me to reappear for IELTS exam?

as i just need 2 points to maintain 400 score.

Thanks Ak and Jickson.

I will re appear for IELTS in that case

theres no harm. sitting at 400, you require a job offer or a provincial nomination to receive an ITA. I dont know what other provinces are looking for. but if you are serious about OINP, then reappear in IELTS. its your call as its your money! :)

What is current IELTS score?

I think IELTS is the easiest of options...

or should i say... Language points.

Please add your case to a tracker once you submit EOI.

Good luck!

Hi Swati,

Nothing to worry really, you are safe in this case. I was in same situation, having 403 points, turned 30 lost 5 marks.. effective score on 15th Oct 398. I have an email confirmation from OOPNP officials(and same confirmed by OOPNP call centre agent via Phone) about the same that if you have 400+ scores when they sent PT and later score drop below 400 due to age, it won't cause any problems, Both CIC and OOPNP give relaxation in case points are reduced because of age.

I have somewhere posted the extract from that email confirmation in this forum earlier, as someone was in same scenario. Exact same scores.

Just to double boost your confidence let me tell you " I have got the OOPNP nomination when my score in system was 398, and received ITA twice(as i declined the first one" .

So Cheers,
Manpreet Singh

Thanks A ton Manpreet :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Your message left me relieved like anything.

shall i ask you another query, though its not related to scores but yes related to work exp.

My experience is as below:

Jan 2010 TO Oct 2010 - skill level C - (10 months)
Mar 2012 to Mar 2013 - skill level A - (12 months with 2 months annual leave and 1 month paid) - this employer has closed down its operation but I am able to obtain reference letter on company letterhead. Now, I will have offer letter, Experience letter and reference letter. I was getting paid in cash but i do not have payslips.
Mar 2013 to Feb 2014 - skill level A (11 months)
Mar 2014 to present - Skill Level A (21 months)

My total work exp 4.5 yrs (3.5 yrs in Skill A & 10 months in Skill C). Skill C will not be considered but still I am showing.
now query is that I am not sure if they will consider my closed company exp..if they dont consider than my exp will fall below 3 yrs and I might not be eligible.

Pls advise.
