You can sponsor while on disability. There is no minimum income requirement. You and your spouse need to show that you can support yourselves in Canada without welfare (disability being an exception).I have some more question if you all can possibly answer them. I am currently on disability and I am pretty sure I am unable to sponsor without a proper job. Does anyone know the minimum income needed to sponsor?
Well I plan on getting a part time job so that should help. Would it be wise to hire a representative to help this process? I keep reading about them. You can sponsor while on disability. You don't need a representative. Most people do this process themselves.Well I plan on getting a part time job so that should help. Would it be wise to hire a representative to help this process? I keep reading about them.

She can't change her name until she is actually married.Hello again everyone I have another question. When my gf and I go to the local marriage license issuer is that when she changes her name? Or do we do it another time?
As she is American, she will need to change her name in the US, not in Canada.Well we plan on getting married next month when she is visiting. License and a ceremony performed by a marriage commissioner. Can she not change her name then?
Only if you apply inland.Got another question I am hoping you fabulous people can answer. Can my gf get a work visa while she is getting her days in for permanent residency?
Yes, both applicant and sponsor must be living inside Canada at the time of the application to apply inland. You can apply for an Open Work Permit as part of this application, which takes about 4 months to receive. Inland apps are generally processed slower than outland, especially outland US.Inland as in she has to apply while she is here?
