But PGWP is for students. So what is the only way - Express Entry? I believe that is the only option if not licensed or has a job offer.
Yes, a lot of pharmacist start like this getting PGWP to select the best place to work and to improve the CRS score then apply for EE

So your suggestion is to get accepted into a college or university, get PGWP and then apply for PR.
This is a possible solution for low CRS scores. It also facilitates finding jobs, PNPs and fast entry to Canada. Study permit will offer the spouse open work permit to work while the principal applicant study

For example, if the wife is a physician and not practicing. She can apply for Dr of acupuncture, Dr of physiotherapy or any other medical program. Once the wife's application is accepted the pharmacist colleague can get an open work permit to work as a pharmacy intern, pharmacy assistant..etc until finalizing the license. Or if he is lucky can find an opportunity in the pharm industry. Once he gets the job he can apply for the PNP even before graduation of his wife

So the advice is for people in their 30s and 40s to quit their jobs, go to school, get a PGWP and then hope that in that time, they manage to find an avenue to PR? Seems reckless to me in terms of the amount of personal risks, career risks and financial risks involved.

What acupuncture DLI has PGWPs? How can you get a Dr. in Physiotherapy without doing a Masters first. Do you know how difficult it is for foreign doctors to get admission to train and get residency in Canada. Your idea doesn't guarantee PR. Also spouse may not even get an SOWP as it isn't guaranteed.

Agree. Ironically sometimes the best solution is some tough medicine: in this case, the OP's prospects of coming to Canada are negligible and they shouldn't apply or find another country that may want their skills.

Right but OP has to be invited through EE or PNP first. So OP needs to know if eligible.

If you are not intending to practice pharmacy in Canada, you can get the eligibility letter from the PEBC to get CRS score of pharmacy

Yes, they have to search for a suitable university or college program because it is very unlikely for an international physician to find an easy residency in Canada. So the best method for any physician is to go back to the university and find another suitable specialty. Once she graduates she will work or find a suitable residency program in Canada with less effort. I am not an immigration consultant but I am a licensed healthcare practitioner in Canada and I have a lot of colleagues doing the same.

List what residency programs will be an option given the competition with Canadian graduates

Everyone in his/her specialization knows how and where to apply. Competitions are very detailed according to each specialty. This forum is not within the scope of such discussion.

So then don’t suggest to the OP to apply for a study permit, get a Canadian Masters or Doctorate, hope for PR and at the same time then apply for residency programs which they probably will not get. And then say OP will know where to apply.

This applies to you as well do not say the competition is only for Canadians while more than 50% of the doctors in certain provinces are international doctors.

I never said competition is for only Canadians. I said expect competition with Canadian graduates. Also don’t suggest a Doctorate in Acupuncture. Suggest McGill or U of Toronto where IMEs can gain training with transition programs. Anyways OP was asking about pharmacy jobs.
