You mean from a jo(ke) bank. Heres a good one.

Today a man knocked on my door and asked for a small donation towards the local swimming pool. I gave him a glass of water.

You are one lucky man....just curious to know ....what do you do .....

Congratulations to you. My comment was simply based on the fact that after registering at the beginning of October I have not got one single email for a job in my field (NOC 1111) Financial Accountants and Auditors. I am a qualified Australian and Canadian CA. In my case I found a job but found other websites far more useful.

Congratulations again, when it comes to Jobbank you seem to be the proverbial needle in the haystack.

The purpose of JobBank for me seem to be to make sure companies have something "official" to advertise prospective LMIA jobs. Private job boards are not reliable proof for government to prove whether a job had any in-land applicants (citizens/PR ones) or not. Companies can easily bribe private job boards/recruitment-firms to show non-existent applicant for a false job that maybe arguably non-specialised in nature. This is my guess, not something with a proof.

You know that after you register and got accepted to the job bank, you still need to set job alerts for your NOC. This worked me. Caveat; the initial alerts may not match your NOC but after about couple of alerts, you definitely get jobs in your NOC. Mind you there are a lot of jobs for NOC 1111, I know this because I work in a related NOC.

Hi JoacRy,

Just a quick one.....you say you are a qualified Australian and Canadian CA, does it mean you did the Canadian CA after you came to Canada or what? I am also a qualified Accountant, but am worried about the market there, how is it? How long did it take you to land a job once you landed? Which city are you resident in?

I am hoping to fly into Canada in the next few months so I need your guidance since we are in the same field?

Thanks again...
