Hi Guys,

I am an IT specialist - with 5+ years of experience as IT Project Manager.

I've 2 masters degrees, one in Computer Science and one in Management (both obtained in the UK).

I've lived most of my life in the UK - so last time i did ielts, i scored S9 R9 L9 W7.

I am a national of Russia.

I've a spouse who lived in Canada for 1 year, she has a Bachelor Degree from the British Uni. She speaks English at about the same level as me.

We also have relatives in Canada, but very distant, like my wife's grandmother brother and his children and grandchildren (huge family, he had 12 kids) - can they help us somehow? They are willing to help.

My questions are:

Calculator shows that i am going to have roughly 450 points, i can increase it if i get a higher grade in IELTS. Here is the questions - is PTE test accepted in Canada?

Can my wife's relatives help us somehow?

My occupation IT Project Manage (can also be classified as Business Analyst) - what level NOC is that?

How do i assess my education? Do i need to assess all degrees of my? (I've 2 masters and bachelor) and my wife has a bachelor degree also?

How long does the process takes on average? I mean after submitting an EOI and getting an invite - how long will it take to receive a visa/pr?

I checked this page myimmitracker dot com - but its very active with Australia but not with Canada - so cant really say...

Please advise.

Thank you

Since you already have an awesome IELTS score, you will not get any significant increase in points even if you retake the test. If your IELTS is still valid, I suggest you NOT to re-take it.

I hear PTE is accepted for Australia alone.

I don't think you get CRS points for having relatives in Canada.

Check for yourself here.

It is enough if you assess your highest degree. Assessing your wife's degree will add more points.

You must first create a Express Entry profile. After this, you should wait for an ITA (Invitation To Apply). After you get your ITA, you will be submitting your e-APR (Electronic Application for Permanent Residence). Once you submit this, it can take up to 6 months to get a decision (sometimes even longer).

Hey rajkamalmohanram,

Thank you very much for your response. Very helpful.

Now, in regards to Education Assessment - i was thinking that by CRS i get more points for 2 masters degree and will have to assess both masters to claim it?

Also, as far as i understood i can go ahead with any assessment body (those that can assess my degree) - are there any average timeline how long it will take?

Thanks

No additional points are awarded for a second Master's degree. Whether you have multiple Master's degrees or you have a single Master's degree, you get the same points!

Yes, you can go ahead. I recommend WES. The turnaround time is 20 business days!

I hope you will find the below post useful!
