Hello, I have recently moved to London, ON. I have a good driving record (knock on the wood) of over 9 Years in US and I would like to know which insurance company provides good services and competitive rates for new comers. I will be driving in / around London, ON. Thank You.

Don't know about rates but service, I would only recommend Intact. Also find a small to midsize broker to represent you. That will double up on the service.

Good luck

I had used http://www.lowestrates.ca/ for comparison initially but then found out that I will get discounted car insurance ( the personal car insurance) through my employer.

Sorry but I disagree here. From my personal experience in USA and Canada , insurance brokers always provide higher quotes then online quotes ( may be due to their commission).

May be NetMecca have had better experience :)

I have had very good luck with brokers rate wise, and even if brokers sometimes are slightly more expensive (which is not my experience I might add), you generally pay what you get for, and that reflects very significantly through claims service you can expect to get. I work in the claims / insurance industry FYI

I agree going through insurance broker provides better rates. this may be specific to your driving history.
for me, Aviva Insurance had lowest rate available.

Do I save $$ if I combine my Auto / Renters insurance? I used to get that with Geico in US.

That varies from insurer to insurer, so you will have to do your research. (which is what brokers are often useful for) Some won't even allow packaging things up at all. Others will have no benefit, and others will have benefit. I have found generally that package deals overall tend to be better if you have things to package up. I have home (and contents) and two vehicles on mine and the packaged premium was significantly discounted because it was packaged

Good luck
