As far as I know (and I'm in 4-5 of our casinos a month) they normally don't hire TFW. With the security clearance needed for some jobs it's easier to hire citizens or PRs. They may hire low skilled positions at TFW (janitor, waitress) but I've never seen that.

FYI, you won't get an open work permit that way. If you are brought to Canada by an employer, you are on a closed work permit. Locked to that employer.

I live in Calgary. The hiring situation may be different in other areas.

I actually got out of bed (I was posting on my iPhone, not very fun), got a cookie, and tried to do some research.

http://elbowrivercasino.com/careers/

Elbow River isn't one of the casinos I normally go to. I did notice, however, they don't state specifically that they do NOT hire TFW. You can cold email them a resume.

http://www.greyeaglecasino.ca/about_us/employment.html

http://www.casinoabs.com/company/employment-opportunities/

http://calgary.cnty.com/forms/online-application/

All of these places take resumes or applications on the internet. You could also call and ask if they hire TFW. Depending on where you're from, you could also look into IEC, if you qualify.

Where does your husband live or where are you planning to live? A lot of factors depend on where you live.

One thing you can do is search Kijiji (www.kijiji.ca). Use "LMO" as your keyword. Make sure to enter your locality. You'll probably see more people begging for LMO jobs than jobs available. It's very difficult to get a LMO job, especially when there are people already inside Canada looking for a new LMO. That doesn't mean it won't happen!

Some areas the fast food places like Tim Horton's, Dairy Queen hire by LMO. (You can apply to Timmy's online.) Your boyfriend could talk with management and see if that's the case in his area.

There's also semi-skilled professions. They vary by province. You can search "semi skilled TFW" and your to-be province.

You're welcome! One last thing, don't give an employer any money, period. Especially if you get a service job (waitress, cleaning lady, etc). They're supposed to pay for everything including work permit and flight into Canada. If you are already IN Canada as a visitor and you're interviewed for a job, make sure to mention that because it will save the company money.

When you apply for a work permit, you may need to apply "Outside" Canada. I had problems getting my study permit because I applied "inside" Canada, but was a visitor. Make sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully and ask in the TFW section of the forum if you need help (cuz I obviously don't know!!!)

Best of luck to you!

Hi there, I would like to know if you got any results in your casinos job search. I am a croupier in Mexico and I'm looking for any advice to apply for a vacancy at Canada.

Casinos sponsoring open work permits can be a great opportunity for those looking for employment in the gaming industry. Tiger Exchange is a reputable and reliable casino platform, known for its fair and secure gaming experience. It would be a smart choice for a casino to sponsor an open work permit for potential employees.

This is the first time I have heard that a casino can sponsor such a thing. But it's a good thing if it's true because if you already work in that sphere and want to move to a new country and continue your path, then it's beneficial. I've never worked in a casino, but I love playing, so I'll try it one day. For now, for me, it's okay just to play, and it's actually something that helps me relax after a working day. There are so many casinos nowadays, and it's not that easy to find a good one online, so I always read reviews and something like that. The last time, one site provided me with very useful info about the no deposit bonus casino canada 2024 , and I managed to find the one I liked, and now I play there often. The games are nice, the bonuses are cool, and what is most important, it's a secure one.

Hello, sorry for reviving the topic, but I believe it is relevant to me. Could you please let me know where I can get up-to-date information on employment opportunities in casinos? I have confirmed experience in Macau
Go to each casino website and click "careers". For example, google River Rock casino.

Or if you currently work in venetian macau, ask for an internal transfer to Vegas.

Thanks for the information!
