Hey,
I'm a Canadian Citizen and I would liek to bring my long distance girlfriend from Brazil to Canada. She was approved to come in Canada on a VIsitor Visa but here is my question.
1. I'm planning to spend 2 months with her in Brazil and she would comeback for a month in Canada to visit to ensure she's enjoying it.
2. We would be going back to Brazil for 2 months and than she would comeback with me if she approves her initial trip to Canada.
The main issue that I'm facing is that we can't be a common-law relation since we are unable to live together due to VISAs restrictions and living in Brazil is pretty complicated.
So I was thinking to bring her to Canada for her to stay with me for 12 months so we can than apply for a common-law sponsorship. Do you think it would be an issue when we attempt to cross the Canadian border?
I know that we can extend her stay in Canada with a Visitor Record but I'm not sure if this is a good reason to get her stay extended or Immigration Canada wouldn't allow such a thing?
Also Brazil is going to require visitor VISA to enter their country starting on October 1st.
Is there anyone who had similar situation that could explain what they did?
