Hi,

I just join this forum and want my Se. to answer my question.

1- I have send my medical along with RPRF to VO london, which they received on April 24, 2012( Check from TCS tracker) but e-CASE is still showing In Process.

My question is how much time it will take to get PPR?

Yes u need to write requested details along with file number and its same for everyone.

Dear All,

Firstly congratulations to all who have received their PP's back from the London VO.

Hopefully the rest receive the PP's with the visas at the earliest.

Let us all start sharing the next important steps before landing in Canada.

1. We need to see the best possible ways of carrying money into Canada. The options being Demand Draft, Travellers Cheques, Pre-Open Bank Account in Canada (ICICI Bank, Scotia Bank, HSBC, SBI) or cash.
2. Deciding on what to take with you to Canada.
3. Deciding on whether the principal applicant should arrive in Canada first, get settled and then take the family to Canada.

Please post your comments.

This will be very useful for everyone.

Mate,

There is no definite period on the PPR request.

But based on recent trends, London VO is sending the PPR request within 6-8 weeks from receipt of the medicals and PCC.

Sho78,

In addition to the Updated Information Chart, you need to write the file number and full name of the applicant behind the passport photos as well.

Remember you should not use ball point pen.

If possible prepare a covering letter and attach this with all the requested documents.

After the initial assessment by CIC London, they provide you with PER Reference Number that starts with E.

The file number that starts with B, is issued only when CIC has taken a decision to grant visas.

If you enter the file number starting with B in ECAS, you will not see any updates. Please check with the EXXXX number on ECAS for regular updates.

It has happened in the past, that once the visas are issued in the ECAS status a Canadian Address will be added.

Also you should use only fountain pen or gel pen.

I guess u r in the middle east.is there any canadian bank in ur country of residence? hv u found any info reg transfer of funds thru this?

I live in dubai and im keeping options open at this moment. rt now i hv two options:

1.over here currently one canadian bank is operational - rbc and i may opt for this to transfer funds but hvnt contacted them so far,im waiting for visa, to take necessary steps.

2.i hv account with hsbc and i plan to open overseas account for canada with them and transfer funds.

I dont hv much info abt bank draft,i dont kw hw much i will b losing.if its bank draft then the conversion of currency will b decided by issuing bank ;im i right?

Reg shifting of whole family,i feel lot of factors one need to consider and this decision is subjective.i dont belive in suggestions like securing job back home and giving try in canada to get foot hold.all most all the employers in any country will not give leave for more than 3 mths and hw can one expect to get a hold in canada in a given time frame.however one may opt for seperating family and in this case wife/husband supports family from other country while the partner gives serious try in canada,provided the couple has independent capacity to survive.

After lot of calculations of pros and cons,we hv decided to resign and move ahead,this may turn out to b wrong in future from financial point of view and we will accept it gracefully as its purely our decision and our priorities are different.
