Hi all,

Can someone help me out please. Myself and my wife are in the process of applying for the Permanent Residency visa as skilled workers. Before Xmas 08 we recieved a letter asking for two things, 1) go for our medicals and 2) pay the visa fees. We did the medical in January and the visa fee was received in London on the 9th February 2009. We have not heard anything since. We have not being asked for our passports or anything. This is really starting to freak me out and I really am wondering is there something we should do, or what the next stage is. I was under the impression that once fee's were paid and medicals completed that was pretty much it but thid does not seem to be the case.

We are in Ireland and applying through the London Visa Office. Can anyone offer any insight or advice to help me calm my nerves?

Thanks
Ciaran

If you check Trackitt http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/federal-skilled-workers IT seems passport request about 2/3 months after medicals. So you should be close.

Thanks for that, cant really work out how that website helps at all but I appreciate the reply. We are coming up on the 3 month mark now since we did the medicals so hope to hear something soon. I am pulling my hair out and trying to sell our house at the same time.

yeah just calm down and give yourself about another month or so then when your passport request comes you can put the house on the market and by the time you get back your passports with visas, house is sold and you are ready to bounce .

LOL your not to familiar with the Irish housing market are you? Anyway house is almost sold (we were going to do this regardless of the visa) but its hitting stumbling blocks which is annoying me even more.

I know I need to calm down just the the usual anxiety associated with this kind of thing!

So hopefully will be asked for the Passport soon.

Cheers

I seriously think London are on a go-slow but I'm not gonna whine (there's no point). I can appreciate the economy in Ireland at the mo so I would go ahead and try and get the house sold and maybe also have a pint of guiness or 7 to calm your nerves! :O)

All the best & keep us posted.

Hi Ciaran, hope your passport request comes soon. My Wife and I also applied for PR through the skilled worker program. How long did it take for you to receive your medical request after you sent your full application and supporting documents.

hi,
I will suggest that you e-mail the concern office, because the same thing happened in my case and after waiting for three months i send them the e-mail and after 1 an a half week they replied to my e-mail with a passport request and i finally received our visas on 19th March'09.

Best of Luck
Regards

Dear all,

I have submitted my application to the Citizen and Immigration Canada office on September 2014. They sent my application to london visa office on January 2015. I haven't received any update from them till now, given that my application is showing under process by cic in the application status section.

I checked the processing time for applications received prior to Dec 2014. As mentioned in the website, it should normally take 20 month to be completed.

I tried to contact the london visa office a number times but I didnot receive any response. Does any one know how to contact the visa office on london. I am contacting them on this email ldnimmigration@international.gc.ca. Was any one successful in getting any response from them.
