shortly is indefinite, but knowing its under final review meaning your file is moving so just hang in there.... it will come "shortly"

This means that your Background checks have been received. They are looking for an available VO who has free time to review and finalize your file and send you PPR. Wait patiently, your PPR should pop up soon.

Hi guys, background checks can take how long? My vo recently changed from Rfi to bwj but both of them replied that background checks in progress since I sent my first inquiry in August 2015... If they are not sure about anything why don't they call for interview and get away with it. I have finally applied for notes which will be received by the end of next month... Really it has taken too long. Whether you have employed in any of armed forces ? Or whether you have any relation to security departments during your career? Because if this is the case then there is intensive investigation and intelligence gathering about your day to day activities because of the security concerns.

What is your case? Moreover other then this standard reply which is Background check is in process, whether there was any other reply?
