Its 18 months not weeks and that too for 80% of the cases. Raising CSE will just let you know the current status of your case and will not speed it up in any way.

CSE may not speed up the process but at least sometime it wake ups the VO may be. And you also come to know what is happening with your app. Actually thats what i have been told by some seniors. I am raising my first CSE this monday anyway.

I am not an expert and these are only my thoughts and i was told.

No need for CIC to know that the payment is done by you or anybody else, the most important is the receipt number, they will check if it is really done and exist or not. Then they will register this number in your file.

Job done, no one else will give them your receipt number.

Any idea how long it takes on security clearance? I visited couple of countries . I have passes eligibility and i am on security clearance stage at the moment.

Today its been exactly 8 months (240 days) since PER and no progress except ECAS updates.
