MM,

The term "Shortly" they used in their reply to you is kind of specific. It really means short period. I would look to their reply as positive sign.

All the best dear

hmmmm lets hope for the best

Walk in to any bank which you think is reputed. Ask them to you want one DD in favor of 'Receiver General for Canada'.
If it is your salary account, they will deduct it from your acc, else pay them the required amount CAD 490$ for each applicant except kids.

On the back side of the DD write your name, UCI no (It is optional)

Maria can confirm if it has to be Receiver General for Canada

Payable at- Maria can confirm.
My personal exp. If you don't have a bank account, banks wont accept cash to make DD for you(atleast in HSBC, Citi and Standard chartered, i tried and they didn't). I had taken my initial app. DD through a friend of mine who had acct. in std chart...

As i said earlier, I was forced by my consultant to cancel my local bank DD, it seems based on their previous exp. blah blah blah... these consultants has their own concepts!!!!

Many Many congrats to all who receive MR, INSHALLAH LVO will pick pace.

Cool. I misread the 7/2/2013 to be 7th of Feb.

We'd better get used to it - it seems Canadians use all three main date formats quite interchangeably.

Personally I like YYYY/MM/DD for its lack of ambiguity, here in Britain we use DD/MM/YYYY, and the US likes MM/DD/YYYY for reasons that elude me :P

Loncan, that was the confusion in my head. :)

A lot of the dates on the spreadsheet are reversed/random :) very confusing! He received PER in September, so he's one of us :)

His last posts were from last year asking how to inform LVO about change of job, and now suddenly MR :) I guess the change of job prompted them to review his application quicker ...

His reply to my question regarding ECAS:

Thanks Barcomi. No, I didn't go for interview and my ECAS is showing this," we have started processing you application on January, 2014.
They asked me for some updated forms in January which I sent them in feb.
