Incase of CSE, some received the reply from Visa officers and some received it from Client Service Unit - GPW (in my case).
Whats the difference b/w the two? I believe CSU reply when the file is not reviewed by a VO.

guys really happy here, just received our DM today from LVO, after 4 1/2 months of waiting from the time LVO received our papers.... now I'm just waiting to receive back our passport with the visas and CoPR....

I sent CSE to ask about the status of my application and below is the response i got.

We are currently in the process of conducting background/ security checks for your application. This is a lengthy process that can take several months. We will be in contact when there have been further developments with the processing of the file.

As far as my memory serves , once you stated that your husband was engaged in military / defense service. This needs extensive checking by agencies.

Maria_Sal , count this reply as Standard / generic reply, instead of answering to the point. It seems that LVO is pushing back the pressure of CSE and discouraging applicants by saying that it can take several months ...so they are infact suggesting to calm down and don't contact us unless we contact you cause it can take months.

They know the deadline is hardly a month away, and more and more queries will generate about the status. So no worries, I consider it a push back from LVO to stay calm not necessarily it will take "several months"

My sister got this reply for consecutive 18 months , and in March 2014 , she got an email from LVO to re-submit her Schedule A forms.
As per her Ecas , LVO started processing her file on March 10,2012

Means CIC has not given guidelines and procedure to follow by all VO?, Each VO can follow their own procedure :-X :-X :-X No clue.

All applicants are not on this forum
Every application is a different application , and is reviewed by "At Least " two Visa Officers.
External agencies are not bound to respond on Visa Office time lines

Only solution is to stay CALM and enjoy

i have my 2nd line saying 21st jan processing started and i have received reply exactly like this. Lenghty BG checks are in process for your application which will take a minimum of 6 months. should i have to stay calm for 6 months or this is a generic reply?

I think your reply (in case of Bas_sant CSE) is much more relevant than mine, Military checks may take longer than normal.

As far as BACKGROUND CHECKS are concerned, I believe no one from LVO has reported that his Employer was contacted Via PHONE, EMAIL, ONSITE Visit? ? Any one can confirm this ? If no one has reported from LVO that means this is not a major issue and probably will not take serveral months of waiting. Don't know how much time Security Checks will take? but I believe PCC verifications may take longer and depend upon country to country.

They are rulers of Planet Earth , and knows how to check Employment of an applicant , there are multiple ways to do so , FBR Portal , EOBIO Portal , Your Salary and Saving Bank Account Portal , Your Credit card Portal etc - (In Pakistan)
In UAE its even simpler - Your Employment Visa Portal

PCC verification takes 20 Days , ex-SP security Lahore , was my class mate (School Fellow , in same bath of St Anthonys High Lahore) - He showed he how they verify all this stuff - A general mail comes on daily basis from diplomatic enclave , Islamabad with list of all PCC issued by Lahore Police ( the one I have seen) , and SP security verifies them in writing with his signatures that these were issued by him
