Me: Zero. Only cards.

Immi Officer: Okay. So how much money do you have at your disposal to be transferred to canada for your settlement?
Me: 30,000 CAD

Regards

Happy life in Canada mahyn.

Is that without POF (proof of funds) they are accepting a PR landing?

LANDING EXPERIENCE

Hello Folks!

I am back from Canada. It has been quite a while since my last post. I was busy with some travel and the Canada landing. Here is my landing experience.

I landed in Canada on 26 August 2014. I was already in UK for a trip, so I took a flight from London to Toronto. The flight was via Montreal. My destination in Canada as per my application was Calgary.

I landed in Montreal and was done with my immigration /landing formalities in a short while. The wait in the queue took an hour ..the immigration formalities itself took 15 minutes. I had nothing with me, just a small bag and no funds , no list of items to follow.

Immi Officer: How much funds are you carrying funds with you?
Me: Zero. Only cards.

Immi Officer: Okay. So how much money do you have at your disposal to be transferred to canada for your settlement?
Me: 30,000 CAD

Immi: Any goods to declare?
Me: Nothing.

Immi: ( Looking at my bag) Is that all you luggage ?
Me : Yes.

Immi: Any goods to follow?
Me: May be some items. My wife will landed later so she will get them

Immi: Address in Canada?
Me: ( my sisters address)

And that was it. He gave me the welcome to canada look and the book :)
Next day I rented a car and went to Service Ontario office. Got my SIN in 5 minutes. Checked a few banks for accounts,CC, etc.
Stayed in Canada for 7 days as a tourist. And returned. My sister will send me the PR card by post later.

If anybody has any queries regarding landing, feel free to drop me a line.

Good luck to all.

Regards

We should all send email to LVO about this long delay in getting the visa and passport back. They should not keep the passports for so long specially for the applicants who are expats / outside of their home countries... 3-5 weeks (and still counting) for just printing the Visas and COPR is too much...even if they have technical problems...what kind of system they have that can't be fixed in 5 weeks :-X

Dear Mate,
Welcome back!!!!!

Good to see u back in the forum....

Thank you for sharing your landing experience!!!

Kindly check ur inbox.

God Bless u

While searching the possible reason for delay in PPR2 and for delay is visa pasting (on passports already submitted to KSA, UAE or ISB VO's), I reached to VFSGlobal (London) site and found the following notice:

Please be informed that biometrics is operational at the Canada Visa Application Centre. We thank you for your patience and regret the inconvenience this may have caused.

This indicates that in past (assuming Aug 2014) LVO was up-grading their system and that now it has been fixed..........so I feel this delay is due to backlog ..... hopefully it should be cleared in coming days.

Congrats bro.. Thanks for sharing your experience.

One question, you an FSW applicant and you have landed in Montreal (you landing/immigration was completed at Montreal)?
I had the impression that you cannot land in Quebec province if you are FSW applicant.

Well, to be honest , I was myself a bit apprehensive about the same thing. My destination as per my application is Calgary. But as it is, you can land anywhere in Canada ..and work and live anywhere as well if you are a FSWP immigrant... (ignore what the website says about not being allowed to work in Quebec as a FSWP immigrant, no such thing on ground...)

Cheers

I submitted my passport by hand to canadian embassy in Riyadh. It was a special case. I was travelling to UK on 10 aug 2014. And I got the PPR on 28 July, so I explained the my case to my visa Officer in London. Long story short, she issued the visa and asked me to goto Canadian embassy in riyadh. submitted my passport in the morning and got it back the same day.. express action :)

The only documents needed to complete your landing is your Passport with the visa and CoPR. Thats it. Nothing more.

This example shows that visa and COPR are issued / printed at the local visa office not from LVO...it just requires the go ahead from your case officer that's it ... Which is against the info we have that visa and copr are sent from LVO...not able to understand how the things are being processed .........

Brother msaeed what do u think about this special case and how do u analyze this?

One of my friends submitted Passport to Canadian embassy in Riyadh (via vfsglobal) and got it back with stamped visa the very next day. This was 2 months back.
