Dear All,

Last week I received the golden email. We had our photographs ready and sent them off, received our COPR yesterday.

It's been a very long process and although the news has been joyously received, it's been somewhat bittersweet. We've faced so many challenges in the past year, uncertainty with our jobs here in the UK and those waiting for us in Canada. Lots of financial pressures (paying two private school fees in Vancouver to keep our daughters' places, as well as paying for the fees for school they already attend in England etc). Lost the buyer for our house as we couldn't commit to a moving date and so on and so forth.

We very nearly didn't get our PR. We requested our GCMS notes and were advised by an immigration consultant all was ok (Sterling Immigration). It's important to state that we did our own application but simply used the consultant for advice on GCMS.

We felt things were not ok however, spoke to Manmeet Rai from GetGCMS. He's an Ontario based attorney and I simply cannot praise him enough. He was able to spot a subtle error the initial officers had picked up re job duties description (we're both Doctors from the UK), helped us draft an additional information document and submit. After that we went from "Eligibility: not met" to receiving our PR.

Lots of people have written on this forum to simply wait and it'll all happen. It took us 9.5 months and the last 4 months have been hell and really pushed us to the limits of our mental health and wellbeing. I sincerely hope you all receive positive news soon and can move on with your lives.

Best wishes

Hi, yes we ordered GCMS notes twice and both took approximately 60 days to receive. Each time there was very little change in their content.
The first time we emailed Ralph everything was listed as "not started".
The second time we emailed Ralph was 4th September and that's where the eligibility was listed as "Not Met".
Needless to say it cause extreme anxiety, we were despondent and incredibly upset. Upon reflection this decision was likely made back in July before we submitted our additional document with the help of Manmeet Rai from getGCMS (we were not asked for additional documents but proactively provided them as advised by Manmeet). Without that step I'm certain we either would have been rejected or received an ADR.

The problem with our job descriptions were that HR in our hospitals were unable to comment on our job duties because they're not doctors. We submitted their letters containing only basic job duties but these did not match the NOC codes. We spoke to Sterling immigration who advised that should be ok. When we spoke to Manmeet he suggested getting letters from our then supervising Doctors (this is going back to when my wife and I were junior doctors). This is the ADR we submitted - we were unaware we could supply documents from our colleagues as we thought it had to come from HR.

hope that answers your question!

Received PPR email after a 9 month wait today. Feels incredibly surreal.

We had no ADR and 3 ghost updates. Wishing you all success
Thank you for your support and kind words during these stressful times.
Hi,
Do you remember how far apart were the ghost updates, the dates?
