London - Renounce PR

Hi,

Does anyone have experience in how long the process takes in renouncing PR at the London high commission?

I want to visit Canada in 6 months time, however my PR has expired. I can't apply for an eTA until my renunciation is complete. I have submitted the documents today.

Your PR does not expire. Only the PR card..

Yeah I know, but I can't enter with an expired card I believe. I would need to apply for a PTRD, and if I'm going down that route I may as well renounce my PR and apply for an eTA
