Thank you! You should hear soon too!Finallyyyyy!!!! I'm so happy for you!! Congratulations!!!!
Oh interesting! My ecas status changed the next day!Nice! FYI, the website still shows no update for me, it's good to always pay attention to emails, for those still waiting for it.
Wow. That sounds a good deal!! Luckily I don't need to translate any stamps.I just want to share my experience on translating stamps on your passport! I requested quote from two places, one in London and another one in Toronto. I only have 3 stamps that need to be translated. I got two quotes, one 75 dollars (London) and second 30 dollars (Toronto)!!
The translation center in London made a big deal out of it asking me to take the passport to their office and charging me $15 for color copy and $37 for certifying the translation and so on and so forth!
The one based in Toronto is http://www.docsbase.ca/. I had worked with them for my PR application years ago and back then I got the best quote from them as well. I am happy they have managed to keep the prices low. Their translation comes with affidavit and official certification.
I think $30 isn't worth taking the risk of going to the interview without translating the stamps (if needed).
p.s. They will mail the hard copy to your address anywhere in Canada free of charge!
Quick question though. I traveled to UAE before coming to Canada to become permanent resident. Do I need to get those stamps translated? These stamps would be in the eligibility period before I became permanent resident but how would they know if they can't understand?I just want to share my experience on translating stamps on your passport! Good question Owais! Well, if it is on the passport that covers your eligibility period then they wouldn't know!Quick question though. Right. I guess it shouldn't be a problem as it's only 3 days before I became PR. It doesn't even affect my eligibility. Let's see. I need to get my test invite first lol. I am guessing I would get invitation in first week of October for October end.Good question Owais! Well, if it is on the passport that covers your eligibility period then they wouldn't know!
I have an even older passport that covers my eligibility period with stamps on it but I am not translating them. I have so may pre-PR days that I don't think the officer will doubt it! I hope it is a wise decision!
