Congratulations! Good news for London VO applicants:-)
So it took more than 2 weeks for the mail to arrive? Which part of Middle East you are currently residing? Did you apply via an agent?

what is your NOC?
Recently I heard that Qatar has one of the highest salaries in the world.
Wondering why moving from Qatar to a country reeling in Recession.

Jnathan,

I am also currently working in one of GCC country. The only problem with staying here is that you will not get permanent residency even if your work for 20 years. There are only few example of people getting nationality. But that was also because of some other issues and there are no rules for issuing PR. So this is one of the prime reasons of moving to other countries where you are able to get PR status. And you dont have to bother to look for a sponsor.

yah but you risk availing a handy amount of salary being in a GCC.
One of my colleague's uncle lived for around 40 years in Qatar and given the PR.

Hi Janathan,
In any GCC country there is nothing called PR.
Only options are getting Visit Visa.
Employment visa thru a company where the rules are different and many get ban of 6 months if contract is not completed etc etc
Residence visa renewable if u meet the salary criteria to sponsor ur wife.
NO CITIZENSHIP & NO PR no matter u have stayed here for 40 or 50 yrs.
People who have minted enough here staying 10 yrs and above are moving out for the future of their kids.
So if its recession in Canada or not does not make any difference. Most of the Gulf applicants have a good background for support and if things do not work in Canada as per their plans they can come back here and will be accepted due to their vast Gulf experience.
So giving a try is not a futile effort.

unlimited approval of stay with a JOB. that is what I meant when I said he got the PR.
There is no retirement policy in ME for highly experienced workers so its unlimited stay.
