Hi guys,
I’ve been accepted to UBC and I have been able to receive my visa without a hitch but I was recently informed that to enter and stay in Canada, I must present a letter of introduction upon entry in the POE. However, despite my approval in the CIC website and already having the visa stamped in my passport, I have not received the letter of introduction (LOI/POE letter) on the CIC or in my email and I am leaving in less than three days. I don’t know how to go about this. Please advise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks before.

Hi nnkw! Just download and login to your cic account and you will find it there. Login, Download and Print. Good luck.:)

The problem is that I cant find the LOI in my CIC account under messages or anywhere else.
You must have received a new message(on the very next day you received your passport) in your GC key account. Login there, you would see a new message, click on that message and that would have you POE letter attached.

Click on "Check Status and Message" button in your GC key account. You will see "Application Message" section beneath the page just above "View Submitted Application" button. POE letter is present under "Application Message" section.

So it appears i wont be getting my LOI before i leave for canada. ive already spoken to the cic who claims theyve already sent the LOI to me but said they will send me another one but with an indefinite time frame. has anyone been able to get their study permit without the LOI but provides other documentation including the visa stamp, passport, letter of acceptance, screenshot of the cic page which shows my approved status but no LOI/POE, the emails i sent requesting it, proof of funds, etc.?

I have the same issue now.

My application status was shown approved since Aug 26th, but they haven't sent me the LOI yet.

Please help...

Thank you for sharing, I will send the complaint thing to them soon since I've been waiting for 11 weeks to get an approval. "Sigh"

The email from CIC is in plain English and is self explanatory. Carry a printout of this with you if you are still worried.

A friend arrived last weekend and wasn't even asked about it by CBSA.

All the best
