LOCAL OFFICE-EDMONTON (opening of additional info)

I've been here in the forum since last year (Oct.) and the reason I'm sending stuff to them is because I was advised by 3 of the people here on the forum (who was on the same situation) not wait for them to ask additional info

Reasons:
1. One waited for 4 months for cic edmonton to contact them... and guess what, they just received a REFUSAL LETTER, and reason is they did not provide more proof.

2. 2 of the members here submitted additional infos every month and it turned out good. immigration officer just phoned them and told them that "I believe you and she/ he is approvng the application" (no interview)

3. When we went to CIC-Edmonton on Nov.1, 2011, the receptionist told us that it will be added to our file but no guarantee that will open it right away because of the backlogs... (they are putting it all together on your file, it makes no sense though that they will have to PULL your file...)

Having said this, I am much confident that I have additional infos submitted to them... and proved that our marriage is genuine ...who knows we don't need an interview anymore because of the additional proof we have provided...

Yes, I did order new foss notes, and I think it wont hurt. That thing you told me has been circulating here, but many proved already that requesting FOSS notes would not delay the application process.

I ordered my last foss notes in January.

Our MP doesn't care at all... I live here in St. Albert and we tried 3 times already to ask help but he refused. So it's ok!

I'm sending all additional info through mail to CIC edmonton

I also believe in "SERVICE STANDARD DATE". You can only find this out through the FOSS NOTES... Mine is NOV. 1, 2012. the IO has a certain date when they will open the file again...

One of my friends here proved this already

Their file was transferred in Vancouver..Dec. 2011
They ordered foss notes, and their SERVICE STANDARD DATE was FEB. 28, 2012
First week of March 2012 they received a letter from cic saying they will have an interview on APRIL 3, 2012...and asked them to bring additional proof.
They passed the interview and got AIP and OWP after one month.
So see the pattern????

So, I think it's better to have additional info on your file even if they don't ask for it so atleast they won't open your file again and see nothing- but the same things you have submitted 1 year ago...

exactly sending in like pic and what?? what should we send in so

I know exactly how you feel. I was like that the first time I learned that my file was transferred.

First thing I did was to order foss notes because there you will see the reasons why your file was transferred.

so we found out that the IO in Vegreville said that we didn't have enough pictures "together" literally! (but we were on the same place).
****our answer: It was obvious that we were on the same place (SAME SHOTS, SAME WEATHER, SAME EVERYTHING,) taking pictures of each other, it's just that we don't have a tripod and it's hard to take a picture of us together just using one hand...tendency is it's gonna be too close and the scenery will not be on the picture.THEN WE SENT THEM TONS OF PICTURE! TOGETHER!! (We have tripod already)

They also asked about our age gap/ short courtship- so we answered it honestly too
We told them that being in a relationship with the same age didn't work for us...etc...etc...

We also sent them our joint bank account statements, insurances, receipts from our groceries, pictures from our birthdays, dates, receipts of our gifts for each other. Pictures with his family. Plane ticket, even movie tickets we sent it to them

Just recently, we sent them pictures of me when I was in highschool, performing with my singing group then we also sent them pictures of him playing the trumpet when he was in a band, and him singing too, we proved that we are compatible and music is a part of our lives. even if he's old he knows Adele's songs... and me I know songs of Paul Anka.

then we sent them an essay about how will I take care of him when he stops working, I will provide for him...etc...

I learned all these things here on the forum...

WE also sent the cards given by friends as in 30 cards I think....

then a letter from my mom, my aunt, and bestfriend and from his daughter too... we had this notarized.

I Guess will do the same then as well.....i will send all the pics after marriage and all the cards letters property docs ,we bought car together i guess i will send everything i have....but the thing is your file has been transferred 6 months ago and mine just transferred like a month ago so i hope i dnt have to wait that long....cause i am going nuts here..cant work cant do anything.......call center says it takes about a year and cic Edmonton said its 6 months....so i dunno

and on top of that my foss notes are not even here yet,,i dunno why they are taking soo long...first they sent it back and then i re sent it with proof of being in Canada....now still waiting...

How long did u take to get your notes cause u told me u got it 3 times already so how long did it take to get your notes?????

And ya i herd MP in St Albert does not care.....lots of people said that....if you have a friend or family member who lives in south Edmonton then they call the Mp there and be like we have permission to access your file and then the mp office will help and find out whats going on....MP in south Edmonton is very helpful....

Yup we did the same, we sent the documents of our car as well...

When I first phoned the call center to ask about the timeframe of CIC Edmonton, they said that it's 18-24 months before they'll review a file again.. I hope they will open our file within this year. I think it's case to case basis.

If i remember it right, when I first requested for foss notes it only took 2 weeks for me to receive it... I ordered through fax and mail...

I received an email and also a hard copy of it....

Same thing with the 2nd one...2 weeks as well.

Yes. Their application was refused... When they received the letter from CIC and told them that their file was transferred to a local office and the local office MAY contact them... they waited and waited and waited.... after waiting for 4 months,(no interview or whatsoever) it was the REFUSAL LETTER that came and indicated there that " did not provide more proof'

He was the first person who told me to submit additional documents/ proof right away and dont wait for cic to contact you...

They applied outland after that. I cant remember the username but that time he told me to submit everything, he had landed already.

That's scary......ya its better of send more and more info just to be on the safe side....Plus you are rite if you send them enough info they might see that the marriage is genuine and just call you and get aip....
i just hope everything speeds up and we dnt have to wait that long....

yup without interview...

So just wait for your foss notes now, and you'll know when they will open your file and the reasons why they transferred it.

hey charmine, how are u.....so any news or update after the long weekend??


Another huge thing i found out today,,,,,did you send your police clearance from your home country and Canada as well when u filled your papers????Did u do the medicals as well or no....

i just had a talk with the lady almost same scenario of yours and she waited almost 2 years before aip...but the thing is her case was also transferred but after 1year and 2 months,,,but she never filled her police clearance from her home country...as soon as she did she was called on the phone for interview over the phone....they asked her stuff and she got AIP in march and as of today she landed at edmonton cic......

so i think that also plays a major role because if cic try to get your clearance them self it takes any where from 3 - 6 months so that also puts more time to your case so check that as well......and once they transfer your case they can not issue AIP Before security and background clearance.......so check out this info as well....

But for me i dint even get my foss notes as yet....so i m still watiing for anything to happen..... :-[ :-[

Well congrats in advance for your 2nd year..... well it could be that ..or it could be that Edmonton office is the slowest office in the whole country i think they are extremely busy or something...like all over the country even the landing interview takes 1 month or so to call the applicant but here in Edmonton its well over 3 months....so i figure if the landing takes more than 3 months how long will case like our take when transferred for no reason,,,but its good your time will be up soon max of 4 months...but i think some where in June they will call u because your 6 months will be done then....

just keep your finger cross....

ps. i think we are the only 2 people who's 2011 application got transferred to the Edmonton office.....2 unlucky ones...

Actually, im from 2010 applicants. lol. So tell me more about waiting game. Good thing my husband is with me and i have work to keep me busy. Just wishing for the months to pass so quick so that they'll open our papers.

There is one more applicant frm 2010 that was transferred to edmonton. And i told her to submit more infos as well. She is still waiting!

By the way, where are u from?
