Hi all,
A post by a member from the UK (I guess) grabbed my attention, he was asking if he needed a car seat for his children once he landed in Canada and is taking the taxi.
It occurred to me that it would be useful if we discuss the Local norms in Canada.
I remember in a European country where the norm was to separate the recyclable materials and the refuse in different containers each with bags bought at the store for the respective purpose with a stickers tags also bought at the store.
Now I am in a country where recycling is something you hear about on TV. supermarkets and fast food restaurants are open 24 hours.
Those in Canada can shed some light on Canada specific Norms (hate to say rules) which differ significantly from where most of us come from.
regarding children I hear it is illegal to keep a child at home (away from school) after the age of 6. Illegal to leave children with anybody under the age of 12.
A tax file is open immediately for you upon arrival and you should be reporting to the Tax bureau from the first year.
the list goes on
