In order to not have the possibility of being removed out of the country and just assume you are under implied status, I would apply for an extension of my stay as usual one month prior to its expirity just like CIC states... But hey, that would be me.
Hope this helps, Black-Berry.

I had to restore my status during the PR application period. CIC insisted on it, sent me a letter even explaining this.

They informed me, that I would not be able to land Inland, if I did not have legal status at the time. So I sent the forms and 75 dollars off.

As it happened, I was actually granted my PR before CIC could send me my new visa, the IO at landing knew I had applied so it was fine and CIC then sent me a refund.

I would just restore your visitor status if I was you, its not that much money and will give you piece of mind.

Hi,
It's the same thing for me here. They started processing my app. on July 22 2010 . I received a letter saying that they transfered my file to CIC vancouver on February 22 and so far I haven't heard from them yet.
I'm searching now for how to send a FOSS letter.

Hi There,

Anyone got transferred to CIC-Vancouver without AIP? What is their current timeline?

Hope somebody shares their timeline.

Thanks.
