LOA lost through mail...Can I request a new one?

Hi guys,

I got YNP approval and my employer told me that she got hers stating that I have been approved in YNP. My employer's letter is dated May 10, 2013 and she received it on the 17th. I'm still waiting for my LOA. Just wondering if it will be lost or if I didn't receive it for a couple of days can my employer request a new LOA on my behalf or should I call direct to YNP Office?

I am from Yukon. Yes of course they will send you one more if you need. They approved you, because they need u.

Thank you for your input. May I know how many months all in all your visa office processed your applications? Do I need to submit police certificate right away together with the applications? I'm the main applicant but my husband is my dependent. He needs Dubai PCC and it will take like 2 weeks to have it. The problem is when I checked his old Dubai PCC it is just valid for 3 months, I have a feeling that by the time the Nova Scotia will receive our applications his Dubai PCC might be expired and they will ask again for his Dubai PCC which cost us alot. Do you think it's advisable to get PCC now and submit it or since I'm the main applicant I'll just submit my PCC first then we will just submit my husband's PCC when they ask for it? Will it affect the processing times of our PR applications?

U can send PCC later when they ask you to do, but it can delay the process, it's up to you, i sent my pcc with my application, my application was processed in Ottawa about 8 months. I applied from inside Canada.

I also want to ask if you have an idea if my husband and my daughter can use our LOA to enter Canada? Like if they can apply for open work permit for my husband and TRV for my 5 y/o daughter using our LOA? My situation is this, I have a pending TWP applications in CHC-NYC (I'm still outside Canada) under semi-skilled category, if my working visa is approved I'm going straight to Canada. My employer told me that my husband and my daughter could come right away to Canada just apply TRV for my daughter and open work permit for my husband then attach our LOA. As far as I know only skilled worker can apply for open work permit. Our LOA is from Critical Impact Worker program which I don't think my husband could allow to apply for an open work permit. Do you have an idea how they can come right away or we just need to wait for our PR applications approval?

I heart that in Yukon your dependants can apply for open work permit, you need to apply for it from outside of Canada using your LOA.

Thanks for your reply. I really don't have an idea if it's allowed for Low Skilled Category but we will try to apply soon since my employer told me so and you advised me in this forum. I hope there's somebody out there to share actual experience as mine. Thanks again

I have a friend in BC, his wife came to Canada an open work permit when he got his LOA for semi-skilled position, also another example I have in Yukon - wife of my friend applied for a open work permit from inside Canada, she came here on visitor visa.
