My employer posted add in job bank in the second week of feb. any one knows how they will calculate the processing time. As i red this forum i understood it takes between 8-12 weeks could you tell from when the first week starts for the process.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

What province are you in? In BC it currently takes 12-14 weeks, but they are soon switching to an online system, which hopefully will be more efficient. The system won't start until April 1st though.

I heard that the job bank site was down between the time my employer posted the add, even thogh it was down i can see the add and NOC code and the same job posting was appeard in few other site.
Am bit nervous ... Dose it affect to get a positive LMO???
Kindly let me know what is the real processing time for LMO in alberta at this sutuvation

I don't know how it works if the ad was posted and then the Job Bank site went down. I would find out before moving forward with the application. You wouldn't want it to be denied if they say it was not advertised the full 14 days.

It is taking up to 15 weeks for an LMO in Alberta. Mine was denied after waiting 14 weeks. We have advertised again (had to wait while Job Bank was down) and will re-apply.

I suggest you post under this thread at the link, as it is LMO waiting time for Alberta. The original post in this thread was in 2007.

Hi wideopenspaces,

I'm so sorry about your situation! Waiting 14 weeks just to have to start again? May I ask on what grounds did they deny the positive LMO? Was it a NOC code thing?

BC and alberta take 5~10 weeks now.

Applicants of December to vancouver are under process in vancouver office, but those who applied on Jaunary in BC under process in Alberta office.

alicia,

The employer unintentionally had slightly different wording in the job description on Job Bank than they had on the LMO application. It's the little things like that... :( Hopefully it will work out this time. I have been applying for jobs off and on for 6 years now and finally found an employer that was willing to give it a shot.

lucas,

I know people that are still waiting since November, which puts them at 15 weeks and they still don't have an answer. Hopefully they are picking up the pace now as I'm sure the majority of employers aren't willing to wait more than 3 months for an employee.

first week start when you apply for lmo after advertise your job beacuse advertisement period desn't include in processing time it is just a requirement of hrsdc

tryagain,

You're fortunate to have gotten yours in only 5 weeks. This is in Alberta? There are many who applied in November and only recently got their LMO or are still waiting.

I would be applying for my work permit at the border so would get it immediately.

In fact, i haven't seen anyone taking over 8 weeks in Alberta and BC recently.

lucas,

Well, hopefully that is the case. Maybe they were terribly backlogged and have caught up now.

Hi thanks for your replys
Wel i thougt wen they get the NOC the time will starts,
For getting a positive LMO the requerment they say is to advetise in news paper and some other sorce wich the officers belive the employer put effort in finding people locally, in this case my employer posted the same add in some other sites, dose it make some sence???? Less possiblety for denieing?
If the alberta office is processing december papers now i belive i must wait for another month.

Any updates for Ontario processing guys......My application was done on Feb 25!

Thanks in Advance!
