I have been advised that my LMO application went in to Service Canada in Vancouver around the 11th July, but I still havent heard yet. Any idea how long these applications take to process as I have a start date with my employer which has already been delayed once already

See my comments in the threads about LMO processing times in Toronto.

It takes as long as it takes. My company has booked, cancelled and re-booked flights for me 4 times now. My original contract start date was over a month ago.
They say "4-8 weeks" processing time, but mine has now been 8 weeks and there is still no indication that the end is near.

It's frustrating as hell, and they really don't care about your particular circumstances or what problems their delays are causing.

Hang in there!

I'm just going though and updating all of the threads I have been posting on...

I received a positive LMO on Friday! 8)

It took 9 weeks, or just over 40 business days.

I decided yesterday, that I had enough of this wait and I called Service Canada myself, knowing full well that they wouldnt tell me anything. Following my call I contacted my prospective line manager and told him what I did, but also that they would discuss my application with either him or the immigration lawyer.

Now, my line manager to be went mad as he has never been told by the immigration lawyers that they could discuss applications, but instead he has been told for over 8 weeks that Service Canada do not provide updates.

We had a call last night following his conversations with the lawyer and HR and it appears that, both he and I have been led a merry dance for over 8 weeks. My line manager is now expecting news from the lawyer any day now, following his insistence that they get in touch with a contact that they forgot to mention they had in service canada.

He and I are not impressed with this, especially down to the lack of communication on behalf of a firm of lawyers who clearly arent acting in their clients best interest.

So heres hoping I find out the result soon as I am looking to fly next week

Thanks yogi69!!
My employer applied for LMO in Toronto through lawyer in first week of July . We haven't heard anything back and after reading your post i called service canada and they told me to get employer called them. When my employer called them they asked few Qs and then said they will approve the LMO and will get that in mid of next week. My employer didn't have File number and service canada track application based on cra business number.
So i suggest people even if they don't have file number they can try to call service canada and can get status of their application

cheers.

I applied for Canadian Permanent Residency through an agent located in Vancouver, Canada during November Last year, 2010 under the AEO program. Currently I am on H1 and in the USA. During last week, roughly after 11 months of application my consultant told me my LMO has been denied/refused.
Ever since I applied there has been no documents I received from my consultant, neither he asked for any document except for a copy of my passport.
Sometimes, I doubt he didn't applied for anything so far. Is there any way out to find out if the consultant has ever done anything on my file. Can I cross check my application through any canadian website? I never receive any tracking number for my file either. Last time I spoke to my consultant for the LMO application copy and refusal letter from Canadian Embassy/service canada, he denied to share the copies on the basis of privacy.

I am very worried and already paid him quite a lot as an application fee. Please HELP.

That sounds very strange. I'm not sure what privacy laws your agent would be violating by giving you a copy of the refusal letter, since it is YOUR application. I would investigate things further, until your agent gives you the requested copies.

Hi Spice0810,

Did your agent gave you any of these:
Client ID Number
Immigration File Number/Application Number
Financial receipts (IMM 5401); or
Any letter or official document issued to you by CIC

If you have one of those, you can check it here:

Hi Scuudz,
Thanks for the reply. I really want to investigate further on my case since its been almost a year and he never update me, also never asked /took any documents from me except for passport copy. Please suggest me what are the possible ways to investigate further on this matter.
