Hello!
Do you know how long it takes to get the LMO in Alberta if the employer applied the 1st week of March?
I heard it can take around 3 or 4 months, is it true? is for a Live in caregiver.

Also if you already got your working permit as a caregiver could you share your experience with me?
when the employer gets the LMO am I supposed to the it immediately to the embassy? or is it possible for me to wait a couple of weeks? Im asking this, because I might be out of my home country when the LMO arrives...

thank you!!!!
:)

Yup, around 12 - 16 weeks seems to be the norm in Alberta as well as other places. I've been waiting 9 weeks for an LMO position in Saskatchewan. However, all live-in caregiver applications from everywhere in Canada are processed at a specialized Service Canada center in Ontario. These LMOs therefore have different processing times than normal ones. You may well get it much much earlier. I've seen people who didn't have to wait more than 6 weeks to get a live-in caregiver LMO as well as some who took longer. Recently though, there doesn't seem to be a huge backlog (based on other posts I've seen) so there's a good chance you can get it before the end of the month.

Hi StopDa,

I was thought you are waiting for more than 9 weeks? i have been seeing your comment entire discussion that you have been waiting around 28 weeks now.

I'm actually waiting on multiple LMOs, some of which had taken upwards of 20 weeks, but none have ever taken that long. I was probably commenting on somebody else's waiting time that was 28 weeks.

My employer applied my lmo last feb 6 2014 after three weeks my employer emailed to me that the lmo wasapproved. March 4 my lmo was released and forwarded to mealso in alberta
