LMO + CSQ?

Hello, I have grauated Vocational school in montreal.
I applied my csq on dec,2013 and my open work permit visa will be expired Jan,2015
but according to process time, It takes 1 and 6 months.
But Im working now and going to apply for the LMO
my question is that
1) once,I optain the LMO and I quit the job for some reason,Do i have to leave canada as soon as my open work permit expired?
or I can stay until LMO expired ? even though I not working there?
2) How long does it take to get the csq in 2014?

Your wording is some what confusing. So let's make sure i got that right.

LMO and closed work permit is different from OWP (probably PGWP that you would have gotten due to your education from Montreal). LMO by itself does not allow you to work, it is just an approval for the employer to hire you, a foreign national. It is the prerequisite for you to apply for closed work permit.

1) If you apply for an LMO, you would apply for a closed work permit on the basis of that LMO which means you can only work for the same employer. However, if you quit the job or are fired, you can still stay in Canada till the expiry of your closed work permit (but cannot work for any one else without obtaining a new LMO and work permit).

2) If you do receive a CSQ in the mean time, you would probably be eligible to apply for OWP which would allow you to work for any one while your PR application is in process

I know of some one who received his CSQ a couple months ago. I believe he applied less than six months ago. However, you have not indicated if this CSQ was based upon french proficiency exam being included. I have heard that those with french, get through much faster and english only might hang on for a long time.

in Quebec, csq processting time is getting slower..it takes up to 1 and 6month.
your friend appied for csq when?where?

Glad to hear i could be of help.

My friend is my colleague - in Montreal. We both are on work permits but he has been here longer - almost 2 years now. I believe he applied a couple months ago and he received his CSQ in like 2-3 weeks.

I don't know of the reasons for faster processing but we are highly skilled professionals with NOC A, plus he had passed french advanced intermediate proficiency exam. So these factors would have certainly helped speeding up the process.

I see,that's why he was faster than me.
My skilled progessional is NOC B,also didn't pass the intermediate exam.

No problem. In fact this is interesting for me to know that you could apply for CSQ without passing french advance intermediate. I think that has more importance than NOC code.

Let me know how it goes for you.

It might useful for me latter since i have no plans / time of learning french and never thought one could get away with CSQ without it.

the thing is that, As you know it's all about the point
Im married and I have 3 kids,Im young, graduated vocational school in quebec( +12p)
has a IELTS score so on,
so my point is more than 63 points!
so I could apply for it !

Okay, its pretty much the same with me - with the exception of more years of experience and education not from Canada. But then i have work experience in Quebec. Married and kids too and i do qualify easily on the points chart with zero french and advanced English.

The thing i have heard is that it might qualify on paper but you would be called for interview and at least some level of french is asked for. This is only a rumor and i haven't found it written any where. But i am yet to see some one get CSQ without french. So please do keep your updates posted here.

That will give me an idea.

At the bare minimum, i have heard that CSQ in such a case could take quite a long time - and i remember reading some thing along the lines of "without french it would go in low priority queue" or something. I still won't mind that if i know a definite time frame.
