Depends on your NOC. If it is a licensed profession then it is difficult because you can’t work in the field. For an employer to get approved for a LMIA they need to prove their is no Canadian or PR to do the job. The process takes months and then you apply for a closed work permit. Focus on PR as a job offer is difficult.

Hi Naturgrl, I can see you are one of the most active members out here on this platform, I would appreciate your insight on this. An employer applied for an LMIA # in the first week of Jan 2023 but has not received a call for an interview yet. Wondering how long this process can take, it's for an applicant from India. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I would like to message you directly but I don't see any option so I chose this random thread.

Hello Ajay90,
I am in a similar situation where my employer applied for my LMIA in mid-December 2022, but it has not been approved yet. They originally mentioned that it would take 10 weeks, but now it has been over 3 months.

Don't message her personally. Just ask your question here and leave it - we're not paid consultants who will handhold people personally and coddle you via DMs.

You only started the process in Jan, it takes 3-6 months for an LMIA to receive an labor market opinion sometimes and then 5-6 months to use that LMIA to obtain a work permit (unless its under the GSS or rapid processing stream). So you still have a ways to go.
