Hi, I have applied for a work permit under high wage category for a bookkeeper job with a positive LMIA. Will there be an issue for visa approval with recent policy changes of government of Cannada.

Not if you LMIA meets requirements for high wage for the province, and you meet NOC requirements for the job.

Generally, ESDC checks whether the NOC are matched before granting the approval for LMIA and requirement is genuine. Don't they?

The LMIA is approved based on employer proving they could not hire any Canadian with the experience/education. Your work permit is approved based on proving that you have the experience, education and language skills to do the job. So many times a LMIA is approved, but WP is refused because person is not qualified or didn’t show that they are qualified.

What is your province and wage?

I actually talked with consultant about the job keeping job since that's not a high demand job in Canada. But he said but in Edmonton at Summerside area where my employer's business is located ( employer operates an accounting firm) has a demand for bookkeeper. Further, I have 16 years experience in banking fields relating to bookkeeping job functions and my education qualifications are coming under commers and banking & Finance. Therefore, he said this won't be an issue for work permit approval.

Areas don’t operate in a vacuum especially in non-rural more isolated communities. Don’t agree with your consultant’s logic but it will be up to IRCC. What may have easily got a WP in the past is no longer the case. May also be almost impossible for you to get PR if you get to Canada which should also be a consideration.
