Hi all,
I'm in need of some help if anyone can? As it stands at the the moment I am in Canada on a visitor record (since April 2014) my wife and children are here on my wife's work permit which she has extended for another year (till April 2016), I only had a year to coincide with my wife's original 1 year visa. In January we decided that we'd like to stay in Canada so I looked into possibility of me working over here!! (Year at home with kids need to work!! ;D) I applied for a job (carpenter by trade) with a local firm and thus they applied for a LMIA. That was back in end of January. Still nothing they have taken payment and it's way past apparent 10 day processing period for skilled trades!!.
I don't want to leave but my visa ends 16 April (3 weeks!!!) what are my options???? Could I extend my visitor visa another 90 days till I hear back from LMIA? Has anyone gone to us border then Re entered Canada on new visitor visa?? I'm a uk citizen by the way. Sorry for the essay and any input would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Extending a Visitor Record at the Border will not be a problem since ur a British passport holder and Visa exempted. Your consultant and employer who so ever gave you a job offer can write to ESDC department about to request to expedite the process or he can chase it (follow esdc). LMIA applications are never encouraged in a real way, canadian govt knows that people are playing and using lmia to facilitate their long stay in canada and to get PR after work permit. so any ways no issuess, get ur visa extended and wait for lmia.
