LMIA processig time ONTARIO??

Hi Marshall,

what was the reason they rejected? my husband is a welder, his company starts advertisement on the next week.temporary foreign worker program uses NOC 2006 not NOC 2011. It means NOC of welder is 7265 not 7237.welder is in the highest-demand occuations, they should process in 10 days...

My LMIA is dual intent. PR and WP. I'm afraid I need to use NOC 2011 version.
So Welders - NOC 7237.

So for first time they refuse our app because was some error in recruitment process. They explained that my employer didn't put enough effort to hire Canadian or PR. Besides Job Bank they need evidence that employer advertised on at least two or more websites or newspapers etc. and through whole process until LMIA approved. This is how they explained.

Unfortunately for 1st time my employer advertised just through Job Bank + one local newspaper.
Wasn't enough. They said.
So make sure ur employer will do the right thing.

This LMIA 10-days processing time for High Skilled occupations is a MYTH ...lol
Mine - Welder in area with unemployment way under 6%, dual intent, advertised for 4weeks before LMIA application was submitted, wages way above Ontario's median etc.
Pretty much as required...

For first time refused after almost 4 months waiting.

Second time is a 5th week and 2 days... and counting !!!

Hopefully will get results soon.

Not sure what the time depends on. The first time mine got rejected, it took 4 months. The second time we got it approved in 4 weeks ( excluding advertising) . It seems to be dependent on pure luck

the work permit got denied on 18th may on account of LMIA not being processed
it is 20th may not heard anything yet

My category is High wage Category any idea how long it can take..??

They usually take about a week to send u the file number. And then the official 8 weeks of process starts. Nowadays its faster though. You should probably be getting it in 4-6 weeks from the day u receive your file number

Even if its high skilled category it is the same.

So i believe u are in ur restoration period now right?

We just applied for a LMIA, but our WP expires in 6 weeks.... anyone knows if we can have implied status while we are waiting for the LMIA?

Applying for LMIA doesn't give you any immigration status.

You need to apply for WP before current one expires. Then you will get implied status.
If you let the current WP expires and didn't apply for new one, you will be in 90 days grace period to restore your status.

You can either apply for WP or visitor to get implied status, but you have to apply before your current visa expires.
