Congrats Dan.
Did they ask for any extra info or got a straight approval?
Hi,
Thank you prashanthbv.
They didn't ask anything else. My employer called SC every week to know if everything was ok. Mine is a dual intent LMIA.
But I'm still waiting: WP approval and the Ielts results for Express Entry.
Good luck everyone! :)

What is dual intent LMIA?

A dual intent LMIA can be used to support the foreign nationals’ application to CIC for a temporary work permit and the permanent resident visa.

LMIA for WP- $1000
LMIA for PR- no fee
Dual intent LMIA (WP+PR)- $1000

Thanks Dan for the information. Our employer can apply this week for the LMIA after waiting for the 28 days for job bank. I was not aware that there's a dual intent LMIA and that's what we need. I noticed also that the application has to be send to St. John instead of Toronto (we live in Ontario). According Service Canada the application time is 8 weeks, faster would me much appreciated. Our employer will call them every week to follow up. Can't wait to get back to work instead of being a "tourist".
With the LMIA we also will have almost 1000 points so we would be picked for the next draw.

Hi all,

I am new the thread but thought I would share my experiences to date for a dual intent LMIA for Ontario.

Currently waiting on a decision on LMIA

Offered job early Dec 2014.
Company started all paid advertising from 15th Dec. We had issues getting the job bank ad live, so in total we had paid advertising running from Dec 15th, and the job bank ad went live 19th Jan.
Submitted application Feb 23rd Feb
I am NOC 0124 - Online Advertising Professional
Wage - hourly $60 per hour (it works out to be)
Assigned case worker - 10th March, although there was a problem with ready the credit card details, so the company had to resent by fax the credit card details again. The employer/lawyer have been following up daily to ensure we get confirmation of the credit card details working and that payment is taken. We are following up on the file number this week.

Just waiting now. We are really hoping it doesn't take too long from here on in, although SC told my employer it could still be 8 weeks from here.

We are Brits currently residing in Australia on work permits and cannot believe how difficult the process has been. Getting work in AU has been a breeze in comparison and took 4 weeks. I feel so bad for the Canadian employer. I would imagine most employers would not bother with this process. What a way to distract people from the country!

Will post an update as soon as I hear back. Trying to keep positive but it is so nerve wracking!

Interviewed you? What did they ask?

Hi

I have serious doubt in my mind right now...my 90 day restoration ended on jan 31st and before that i applied for my visitors visa.My employer applied for my LMIA in september 2014 and still awaiting result.

so my first question is if i get my LMIA before my visitors visa is approved what will be the procedure to get the work permit.

second question is if i have some other employer ready to give me an LMIA what will be the procedure for that.

Thanks and regards
Manu

Dual Intent

Hi everyone

My employer applied for 2nd time few weeks ago.
End of March / 30th. 4 weeks advertising etc.
1st time LMIA was rejected after 4 months waiting / since NOV last year.
Mine is dual intend. NOC 7237 Welder in Ontario.
Hopefully that won't be that long this time.
Will post any update.

Anyone have similar experience

Regards
